Facebook?? It looks like we forgot about Facebook. But alas, no more of that! Let's re-start with some very exciting news for everyone!
It is with tremendous excitement that we announce Northeast Psych’s first Intern! Please help me in welcoming Brooke Wolejko as joins the fam. She will be helping out in all aspects of the practice.
Brooke Wolejko attended St. Lawrence University for three years, where she studied Psychology and was a goaltender for the Women’s Ice Hockey Team. She transferred to Plattsburgh State for her senior year, playing on their Women’s Hockey Team as well. That season, she finished her collegiate hockey career leading NCAA Division III in goals-against average (0.95) and save percentage (.962).
Brooke received a B.S. degree in Psychology from St. Lawrence in 2018. Shortly after, she moved to Portland, Maine, and began working as an Educational Technician III at The Sweetser School, a school that specializes in treating children with mental and behavioral health disorders. She supported each child’s educational and individual crisis management plan and taught them coping strategies to help them manage their strong emotions. During her year at Sweetser, Brooke became a certified Behavioral Health Professional.
Having spent much of her life in sports, Brooke’s mission is to impact young athletes so they can have the same positive experiences she was able to have. She is passionate about helping athletes enhance their performance and mental toughness skills.
Sports still play a major role in Brooke’s life. Now a professional athlete, she plays for the CT Whale in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL). She is also a goaltending coach for Pro Crease Goaltending. In keeping a healthy mind and body, Brooke plays in a slow-pitch softball league with friends, hikes and enjoys the outdoors, and loves spending time with family, especially her two-year-old niece.
Welcome, Brooke!
