Summer should be full of splashes, not earaches! If your child complains of ear pain after swimming, it might be swimmer’s ear—an infection in the outer ear canal caused by water getting trapped and bacteria growing inside.
Symptoms may include:
👂 Itching or redness
😖 Pain when touching the ear
💧 Drainage from the ear
👂 Muffled hearing
If your child has symptoms of swimmer's ear, call our office to schedule an appointment! Swimmer's ear is treatable with prescription ear drops. For prevention tips & more about swimmer's ear, read our full blog by Morgan Leaventon, FNP-C, at our Summit location. Link in bio.
