After over twenty years in the data processing profession working at major insurance companies in the Hartford area, I felt it was time to look for something more personally satisfying and fulfilling. Yes, I was successful as a data professional, but as part of the insurance industry I am far removed from our clients and it is difficult to feel that I've provided something helpful to them. So, in January of 2005, I decided to go back to school to study massage therapy. In August 2006, I graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington with High Honors. I also received the Certificate of Excellence, awarded for "Academic and Hands-On Excellence". Unfortunately, my home is not large enough to host client sessions. I have made arrangements with some of the area massage centers to use their rooms for my services. I'm also available to travel to homes throughout the Farmington Valley area and adjacent towns. I enjoy providing my clients with all of the benefits of massage therapy. An increasing number of research studies show massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and increases endorphins (enhancing medical treatment). Although therapeutic massage does not increase muscle strength, it can stimulate weak, inactive muscles, and thus, partially compensate for the lack of exercise and inactivity resulting from illness or injury. It also can hasten and lead to a more complete recovery from exercise or injury. I hope you choose
