I help kids get healthier too!

This mom discovered her 11 year old had high cholesterol and triglycerides at his annual doctor’s visit. She scheduled an appointment and we worked together to make healthier choices, eliminate high sugar beverages and increase his physical activity. Focusing on realistic, consistent health habits is essential to improve the health of our kids. Avoid putting kids on diets, skipping meals, fasting and eliminating entire food groups. Children and teenagers that ā€œdietā€ have a high risk of disordered eating and eating disorders.

If diets actually worked we wouldn’t need a new one promoted every year. Diets are usually ineffective and some are just dangerous.

The sleepy beauty diet included taking sedatives to induce sleep so you would sleep more and eat less.

The cigarette diet was prescribed by medical doctors in the 1920’s to suppress the appetite and contribute to weight loss. We now know that smoking contributes to lung cancer.

Don’t get caught up in the latest diet trends. Diets do not offer long term solutions, but usually a lot of food rules/ restrictions to temporarily create a calorie deficit. If diets actually worked, there would not be a billion dollar diet industry.

I offer a different approach - intuitive eating. Listening to your bodies natural hunger/fullness cues to guide your food choices.
No counting or tracking calories, macros, points, carbohydrates or fats. If you want to escape the next diet trend and learn more about intuitive eating, message me for more details.

Diabetes is often referred to as a silent disease because you don’t usually feel bad unless blood sugars are extremely high or low. However, elevated blood sugar can increase your risk of diabetes complications.

If you have diabetes blood sugar goals are-
80-130 mg/dl before meals
< 180 mg/dl two hours after a meal
A1C < 7%
