Francois County, Inc is a non profit, ecumenical, Christian based house building organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing within St. Francois County is seeking to put Gods love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. (HFHSFC) is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian-based house building organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing within St. We are part of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing organization. Since then, HFHSFC has built homes in Bonne Terre, Park Hills, and Farmington. We welcome all people to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with those who lack adequate shelter. Our local Habitat affiliate, along with many others around the world, coordinates house building and selects partner families. Habitat houses are purchased by the homeowner families. Three factors make the houses affordable to low-income people worldwide:
1) Houses are sold at no profit, with low to no interest charged on the mortgage.
2) Homeowners and volunteers build the houses under trained supervision.
3) Individuals, corporations, faith groups and others provide financial support
Homeowner families are chosen according to their need, ability to repay the no-profit, low to no-interest mortgage and their willingness to work in partnership with HFHSFC. Over 1,000,000 homes have been built around the globe. Habitat for Humanity does not discriminate according to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, age or disability. How would you like to volunteer? Here are the basic areas for volunteering:
1) We raise money (avg. $55,000/per house), volunteers and awareness to support building the house. (Development Committee)
2) We select a family to help build the house and can make the low, monthly payments. (Family Selection Committee)
3) We find the lots on which to build the homes. (Site Selection Committee)
4) We build the homes with input from the Habitat partner family. (Building Committee)
5) We stay in touch with the family at all times throughout the building process (and even after!) to be sure their housing wishes are being met and to ensure they are getting a maximum return on their Habitat experience. (Family Support Committee)
6) We operate a Restore and need volunteers to pick up donations, work in the store and ask for donations.
7) We need people in Faith Relations to perform outreach and guidance in accordance to Gods love.
8) We operate an office and could use help with clerical duties.
9) We have many volunteers! A volunteer coordinator to track, sign-in and organize volunteer activities would be a blessing.
10) We would like to provide lunch on build days, an individual or group to do this would be appreciated! Still can't decide how you'd like to volunteer? Running a little low on funds to donate? Sometimes the biggest impact you can make on a mission like this is through prayer. It's that simple. And it's very welcome to our cause. We can only provide simple, decent housing with your help, so we thank you for your consideration! Francois County
