Offering breastfeeding advocacy, education, information, and resources. All are welcome!

Four Corners Chapter meets monthly at PMS in Farmington. The mission of the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force is to improve the health of New Mexico families by creating supportive environments in which breastfeeding is the cultural norm. We strive to bridge the gap in breastfeeding disparities and are committed to making sure all families have the support they need to reach their breastfeeding goals. A breastfeeding culture includes all forms of feeding human/mother's milk including pumping, donor milk feeding and milk sharing. The New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force is a coalition that promotes breastfeeding, and supports mothers, families, and communities by:

Supporting hospitals and clinics in their efforts to achieve Baby-Friendly designation
Empowering peer counselors to improve breastfeeding duration rates across New Mexico
Improving workplace breastfeeding conditions
Hosting an internationally recognized annual breastfeeding conference
Advocating for supportive legislative policies and building chapter/community support
Join a local chapter to engage in community mobilization, breastfeeding advocacy and support!

The New Mexico Acequia Association (NMAA) is now accepting applications for the 9th cohort of Los Sembradores, our Farmer-to-Farmer training program for beginning acequia farmers in northern New Mexico.

Beginning April 2026, 7–10 apprentices will participate in an 8-month program that includes three workshops per month. One workshop will take place at our demonstration site, Chicoyole Farm in Chamisal, led by Farmer Trainer Donne Gonzales, and two additional workshops will take place in acequia communities across northern New Mexico led by NMAA’s Food, Farm, and Seeds Team.

Workshops will include farm skills training, visitas with experienced farmers, and mutual aid workdays.

Topics may include irrigation methods, soil health, planting and harvesting techniques, season extension, farm planning, seed saving, organic pest management, marketing, remedio making, and traditional food preparation.

Each apprentice will also develop their own garden/farm plot, applying the skills learned throughout the program.

Los Sembradores recruits participants from acequia communities in northern New Mexico who are interested in strengthening agricultural traditions, increasing food production, and becoming active in their acequia communities.
