I’m seeing this mistake a lot lately… switching from a twice-weekly estradiol patch to a once-weekly patch does NOT mean you automatically increase the dose. The number on the patch is the amount delivered per day, not the total for the week.

Now, some patients do need a dose adjustment when switching brands or delivery schedules, but that should be based on symptoms and labs — not just because the patch lasts longer.

Details matter with hormone therapy, and small misunderstandings can lead to big changes in how patients feel.
