Our Story
Welcome to Harmonized Healing and Balancing. I am a craniosacral therapist. What did I just say? Well you can think of it like this Cranial, means head, Sacral, means the area of the lower back where the spine ends. Through light touch, compression and distraction I balance the synovial fluid (the fluid that coats the spine and brain), I also balance the Myofacial tissue of the body (the connective tissue that holds the skin to the muscle.) The synovial fluid has a rhythm just as the heart does. Trauma to the body, being ill, falling, strain, and over working the body can disrupt this flow. This disruption can cause pain, distraction, lack of focus, illness, Dis-Ease and for our bodies not to function as they should. The Myofacial tissue holds memories of things that have happened to the body, such as physical abuse, repetitive motion, falls, car accidents, verbal abuse, and much more. For example say that you were in a car accident and rear ended, you seen that you were going to be hit. Your body tenses to protect itself and you have pain from being tense in the neck back and shoulders. It is now 10 years later and a car comes up to fast behind you and triggers the memory of the rear end accident 10 years ago. You were not hit again but you tensed preparing for the hit again, you now have pain that you did 10 years ago. But, why? Your body is a very complexed system that learns from past experiences, your body remembers the hit form 10 years ago and tries to protect itself again. It remembers that pain and that it needed to heal. I help release the memories that no longer are helpful to the body by, resetting in a sense, the myofacial tissue. This is a very relaxing process that many enjoy.
I have worked with people of all ages. I have seen newborn children who have had a traumatic birth or pregnancy. Often in these babies I see issues feeding, sleeping, acid reflux, or trouble going to the bathroom. I recommend that parents also be treated with baby because all were affected by this experience. Everyone is connected in this example. Just as a mother may know that her child is ill before any signs are shown or that her child is in trouble or hurt when not being near them and being miles away, this is the connection that bonds a family. Treating the whole family often helps the bond become stronger and make relationships better. I have worked on Children with ADHD, and ADD. Working on these people often helps in reduction of unwanted behavior. My own son has ADHD and is the reason I sought out an alternative therapy beyond medication. I have seen some amazing results with him. His dose of medication is approximately half of what it was. I have worked on veterans who have come back with PTSD, Victims of physical, and verbal abuse, people who want a more balanced life, and so many more.
I hope this has helped you in what I do. I would love to see you soon. Please let me know if there is any questions I can answer for you.
