🌟WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?
Occupational therapy (OT) aims to help people participate in daily activities they need or want to do, such as self-care, working, or school. It can address physical, cognitive, and emotional skills that improve daily life.

🌟WHAT SKILLS ARE ADDRESSED? Pediatric OTs focus on strengthening fine and gross motor coordination, sensory processing, and visual-perceptual skills while building independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, feeding, and grooming.

🌟Why is OT important?
Occupational therapists ensure that individuals have the practical skills and environmental adaptations needed to live with purpose, confidence, and independence.

🌟HOW CAN WE SHOW APPRECIATION?
You can show your appreciation for an occupational therapist’s dedication by having your child draw them a colorful picture, write a heartfelt letter, or simply offer a sincere, verbal "thank you" to celebrate the progress they have made together.

Last week was our LAST week of Young Athletes! Here's the breakdown:

Week 8 Activities
- Warm up/Introduction: Yoga or dance video to get athletes' bodies moving. 🧘🏽‍♀️
-Animal friends: Athletes pair up with a friend who shares the same animal. 🦒
-Animal walks: Athlete pairs walk from one end of the gym to the other like different animals. 🦓
-Toss/catch ball: Athlete pairs practice tossing and catching a ball. 🏀
-Kick at target: Athletes take turns practicing kicking a ball through a hoop. ⚽️
-Flag/tag football: Athletes split into two teams and play a game of flag football! 🏈

It has been an honor to support Special Olympics Arkansas by empowering our friends to be YOUNG ATHLETES! Until next year!
