Babyyyyyyy we (Therapists) can chew bubblegum - walk - talk - a little nappy nap - do them notes 🥲- call for change - do trauma work - teach regulation skills - club - party - video game - 🍃🍃🍃 - complete ceus + all of the same time while saying f the system.

You can talk 💩 about being a therapist while still doing radical work. TBH, most of my sessions are still heavily trauma work using EMDR, SE, Brainspotting (all of that jazz) not EVERYONE wants to talk about politics, or systemic oppression. But, they know that if they ever did, I would radically hold space and explore their concerns deeper. Thats what Therapy is Political means for me✨

Why do we reduce the complexity of human connection to mere survival skills?

Is this where we are going - commodify our relationships - reducing people down based on attachment? How is that leading to deeper meaningful connections?

Embracing each other’s differences, understanding, and supporting growth can lead to richer, more authentic relationships.

Let’s celebrate the beauty in diversity rather than categorizing and excluding based on attachment styles. Love and connection know no fixed molds.⁣

This weekend has made me reflect on multiple things:

-i cannot control and create a safe place without tearing myself down.
-black women are allowed to be curious.
-holding more compassion for myself and others.
-i want to exist in this world more bravely, and authentic.
-i need to sit with being misunderstood.i need to sit with what my soul knows.
-safety is subjective.
-commuNITY exists - even when it feels far.
-i got this babe. So do you ✨

Allow this post to settle within your nervous system. My strongest values I hold as a therapist, is not assuming I know what’s best for the person. Please take care of yourself. As always, I am sending so much compassion, ease, and love for all of you. I will continue to try to respond to people in my DMs and comments. -Pat ✨

This is a question I often reflect. I understand very VALID decisions for people going no-contact!! I am more curious about how quick we cut off people is fueling hyperindividualism.

Recognizing the need for decolonization or adopting an Anti-Colonial and Liberation lens in therapy involves acknowledging that numerous mainstream healing modalities have origins in (Non)-Western and Indigenous healing practices. This perspective emphasizes the importance of honoring diverse cultural and indigenous approaches to healing, challenging the dominance of Western-centric models, and working towards a more inclusive and equitable therapeutic framework.
