Healing isn’t linear, but it is possible.

Overcoming childhood trauma has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done—and continue to do. There are days the past whispers louder than the present, and moments when old wounds ache in new ways. But I’ve learned that healing isn’t about forgetting what happened. It’s about facing it, feeling it, and choosing to move forward anyway.

I am not what I went through. I am who I chose to become in spite of it.

To anyone still on the journey—keep going. Your healing matters. Your story matters. And you are not alone.

Motherhood isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, loving fiercely, learning as you go, and giving your all even on the tough days. Some days we crush it, and other days we’re just surviving—but through it all, we keep showing up. That’s enough. That’s everything.

Let’s clear something up: Mental health and mental illness aren’t the same thing.

Mental health is something everyone has—just like physical health. It’s about how we think, feel, and cope with life.

Mental illness refers to conditions that affect a person’s thinking, mood, or behavior in a more serious or lasting way.

You can have good mental health with a mental illness, and you can struggle with mental health without having a diagnosed illness.

Understanding the difference helps us reduce stigma and support each other better.

•It’s overthinking every text you send, every word you say, every look you get.
•It’s replaying conversations hours (or days) later, wondering if you said the wrong thing.
•It’s assuming silence means you upset someone.
•It’s planning for the worst even when things are fine — because your brain doesn’t know how to trust peace.

It’s exhausting, invisible, and it’s real.

So if you’re someone who battles anxiety, just know: you’re not alone. You’re not broken. You’re just carrying a mind that cares a little too much sometimes. Be kind to it. And to yourself.
