You might not be attracting or manifesting the undesirable situations in your life, but you could be allowing and feeding them.

I often hear wonderful people wonder:
“Why am I attracting this into my life?”

And I wish they would shift the question to:
“How come am I allowing this into my life?” 🧐

Please consider this, that maybe JUST MAYBE, you are not “attracting” it bc that is what you deserve or bc you are a “bad” person. However, you might be allowing it bc you believe those things about yourself.

If you sit with this long enough, you might then realize that by making decisions that are aligned with your self-respect and sense of value, you have the energy to dedicate your time and resources to what is good for you and the life you want.

You aren’t broken or undeserving, you might be just acting like you are.

If you tend to look at your life through the lenses of you attracting what you deserve, take time to contemplate on this. I hope this opens a doorway for you to see different and new possibilities ahead of you.

For as long as we buy into the the TRAP that we are here to be happy, happiness slips through our fingers, like the dangling carrot in front of the horse.

We push, push and push, and simply never “get there.”

👁️ We aren’t here to be happy. 💡

Rom coms, and feel good movies should come with that disclaimer, “take this is escape from reality at your own risk.” Because the problem is that, for as long as we hold to that fantasy, we will feel like we are broken & there is something wrong with our lives.

Many people amp up their suffering bc they believe they are supposed to be “ready,” perfect, and happy. But that isn’t the gist of life. Life is work, and growth, and these two requires befriending discomforts, and the natural pains of suffering.

When you realize that, you let go to the idea that life might be especially unfair or difficult to YOU. It isn’t!

Challenges are constantly happening all around, to everybody; the uniqueness lies on how you are able to respond to those.

“The spirit is revealed in adversity.” (Chico Xavier)

Suffering is the juicing of life. It reveals all that has been kept inside.

The hidden treasure in that is when you do accept this truth, you begin to access the gracefulness of Life.

When we do act even though we are afraid, when we do work towards what we value while navigating the pains of suffering, when we accept that to every direction of growth, I will meet resistance, challenges & obstacles; then courage awakens, happiness arrive, and peace returns to the heart.

Just for today,
Release the tension that tries to push away suffering.
Soften around it, let it be.

Therapy is much more than venting and getting validation.

Therapy is:
✔️ having time to check in with yourself
✔️ letting emotions out you have kept in
✔️ getting challenged into new perspectives by a non-judgemental professional that cares about your wellbeing
✔️ learning or deepening skills for presence, communication, healing & wellbeing
✔️ integrating past difficult experiences so they are stored in you as a source of strength rather than shame
✔️ accountability & support to reach your goals without pressure or pushing
✔️ find clarity where you felt foggy
✔️ developing emotional intelligence & self-esteem

😮‍💨 I could keep going, but I guess that’s plenty for now.

What keeps you coming back to therapy?

The not so fun part of having the courage to heal, be vulnerable and authentic is getting scapegoated. It is more common than you might think. As a licensed therapist I see it often in my office.

The power here is to see that as a sign you might be going in the right direction; that means you will have to shake some dynamics up a bit and that becomes uncomfortable for those around us.

The gap in between your reality and what you know as a possibility if you look at it to self-criticize, that gap will become the size of your frustration.

Perfectionism is the courage to walk as a beginner and the self, and the humility to be compassionate towards our own stumbling mistakes.

No, you aren’t the problem.
The problem is a world that wants you to stay silent and numb.

Feeling and caring isn’t weakness.
It is awareness & aliveness.

Transformation, change & growth isn’t an inconvenience, or burden.
It is courage.

What I see everyday in my office is that people who seek therapy are the ones creating the quiet, yet powerful, revolution of cycle breaking.

We aren’t the problem.

We are the solution.

We are the ones who have made a decision:

When there is something off,
We won’t stay quiet or numb it,
And we won’t look away.
