May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
Here are a few important things to keep in mind.
1. Mental Health is Health!
2. Talk openly about mental health to help reduce myths and misconceptions and destigmatize.
3. Encourage those who are suffering to seek help and find a support network. Adults need a village too!
4. Be kind to everyone. You don’t have to meet anger with anger and hate with it. Sometimes it’s just that the person is hurting and they don’t know how to positively express what they are feeling.
5. Self-care is an integral part of addressing mental health…it is how we take our power back.
6. There is always hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.
7. For the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
