Heart broken, my sweet baby boy , Nikkos, only 3 yrs old, but gave me a lifetime of love, hugs, kisses and comfort. Thru really dark times, he was the laughter and light I needed. His family will miss him immensely, especially his big sis…but hope that she will see what we cannot, altho I hope we do as well.

I’ll carry u with me , wherever I go, in my heart and soul forever. So grateful for the unconditional love u showered on each of us. RIP my good boy, Mama loves u 💗

Sharing of grief rather than holding it in and sharing of the love given, to light someone else’s path or my own.. I’m not sure yet…reminding that time is precious as well as the love💔

Gratitude during Vata season is both Sattvic and grounding! 🙏

This is a time for warmth, family, community, feasting - and being mindful that we avoid Tamasic overeating and Rajasic conflicts.

Sattva, Rajas and Tamas are the Gunas - qualities in nature and our minds that are in constant flux.

Sattva is harmonious and clear
Rajas is ambitious and restless
Tamas is lethargic and inactive

None of the Gunas are “good” or “bad” - they are all essential to life. To keep them balanced this Thanksgiving:

1. Rejuvenate and meditate. Be mindful about nurturing relationships and looking after your own health during the holidays.

2. Keep up with Yoga and nature walks to stay peaceful!

3. Traditional meals are balanced, and even better when we cook and eat with love in our hearts. Enjoy all the food groups but favor soups, gravies, stews and warm, unctuous food. We are mindful of Vata Dosha this season, which is balanced by the sweet, sour and salty tastes.

4. Sip digestive teas like ginger or CCF (cumin-coriander-fennel) tea and try to avoid overeating.

5. Maintain a 21 day gratitude journal which can open your heart, cause a shift and elevate your consciousness!

6. Honor your lineage, indigenous spirit and those who lived on your land before you. It's Native American Heritage Month and Friday is Native American Heritage Day.
