Get to know your licensed massage and bodywork therapist. Jhonlie Cuis-Barnes (July 9. 1980) was born and raised in the Philippines (Jubasan, Allen, Norther-Samar). She is the baby of seven children (2 sisters and 4 brothers). She migrated to the United States in June 1994. Her port of entry was in Guam residing in Anderson Air Force Ba
se. She attended high schools in Guam, Minot, North Dakota and Temple Hills. Maryland due to military family lifestyle. She then started her journey of adulthood in Tampa, Florida after graduating high school, where she joined the United States Army. She served in the US Army from 2000-2013. She was a highly motivated paratrooper in the 82nd Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. She was awarded for her hard work on supporting the units and the other attachments in support of equipping the soldiers during SFOR9, OEF/OIF, and several other attachment deployments as well as a rear D supply personnel. She managed 6 barracks with well over 2,000 personnel, furnishings, and was a key custodian to the (now) 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. She stood up 2 brand new EOD units, the elite 28th EOD and 722nd EOD companies. She went to the Civil Affairs Selection, unfortunately with only 1 month left of school, she developed health issues that enabled her to finish the course. However, she served the very unit she was supposed to be if she finished the course, 97th Civil Affairs Battalion. She was in an ensemble during the Miss Saigon Production in 2012 while a full time Civil Affairs Supply Sergent. She received an Excellence Award nominee (Civil affairs NCO key to Army Supply Excellence Award nomination (fayobserver.com)) and helped her command earn an award to become the first special operations unit to be certified as a Green Boot organization to achieve a sustainable environment at Fort Bragg. She served as the unit Armorer on all units she was assigned. Managing at least 95% of sensitive equipment and high dollar value equipment. Due to health issues obtained in the military, she terminated her contract in 2013, having to serve 13 years in the service. She is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in the state of North Carolina (LMBT NC #16273). A graduate of the Body Therapy Institute, Siler City, NC with 660 hours of training in Swedish and myofascial massage. The education also includes basic training in trigger point therapy, energy balancing, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, and spa treatments. She has been a licensed massage and bodywork therapist since March 3, 2017, shortly after graduating in November 2016. Her original practice was in her home and free of charge in service to helping everyone she can. At this time, she was a wife, a mother and was a caregiver to her parents. For several years up until the year 2020 she had been caring for her parents, while her husband is her caregiver and their children. Her father Nicomedes (Oct 15, 1937) had several health symptoms, mostly resolved while in her care. Her mother Pacita (April 12, 1942-March 15, 2023) was diagnosed with severe bone cancer in 2018 which left her nearly dead. Thank God she was cured in 2020 by a series of collaboration of modalities over the years. Due to her passion and dedication, she is extending her knowledge of caring in serving the community for those who are open to the idea of a wholistic therapeutic approach. NiCita's Wholistic Therapeutics, LLC came into existence. She has 6 living children (5 daughters and 1 son). All her girls are home birth with the help mostly of her husband. They homeschooled their children up until the school year 2023 and enrolled them at Melamed Academy, a virtual school. They practice Orthodox Judaism. She tends her parents sustainable garden that evolved into a wild sustainable herbal garden which she named, "NiCita's Garden" in honor to her parents. She collects herbal teas and tinctures that are harvested from NiCita's Garden for family use. She enjoys giving live plants to others. Her garden is a certified wildlife habitat, and she recently became a member of the Sustainable Neighbors of Fayetteville, NC. She established Custom Craft, Textile & Design, LLC (December 2022). This business is her children's business and serves as a tool for their growth and becoming independent at a young age. This business aspect consists of embroidery, garden related tools like trellis and such, and other designing avenue and crafts that her children will develop over the years. This business will soon be incorporated into NiCita’s Wholistic Therapeutics, LLC. She is very passionate on serving God, her family and others through educating and sharing with others her experiences both tangible and practical usage of information learned. She enjoys observing and experimenting with new ideas to prove such causes and effects. Experience of Natural Healing. She was born in July 1980, but in December 1980 as a 5-month-old baby, Jhonlie was considered in the dialect, “diyo pa ma pala”, which means nearly reached hypothermia. She was discovered purple in her soaked wrapping. She was rubbed and warmed until she had a sign of life. In 1988/1989, Jhonlie was sick and sent to the local hospital. Not sure of the diagnosis given but she would convulse every time the medicine was administered to her in the middle of the night. The bed would shake, and the loud squeak covered the entire clinic. Her mother, Pacita, voluntarily discharged her and utter to them, “You all are going to kill my daughter. I want her out”. So, her mother took her to one of the local medicine man, Mr. Liloy Eulin. She was given a jar of vinegar with roots and barks to intake and apply topically. She was cured. No child yet. About 2 years after getting married, Jhonlie was not able to bear a child. In November 2002, Jhonlie had a Filipino traditional reproductive massage. In the summer of 2003, she conceived. In 2018, Jhonlie, experimented with her initial belly massage which contributed to another conception. In 2016 when she went to school for massage therapy, there were plenty of health issues that were relieved during the class. Her neck was more mobile, lots of trigger points were released, her structural damage was brought to light and corrected, mental and emotional release were plenty as well. Today, she attributes her continuous learning from God’s guidance and wisdom, her own health journey, her parents, her family, friends, and her clients. She strives to learn more and continue to mold the treatment into perfection to better help each and individual clients from a newborn to the eldest and including animals.
