Adjusting with the seasons and matching the energy of the world around us is a subtle, yet powerful way to find balance and overall wellness. Our society often values productivity, work, production, and this outward yang energy to such a degree that we forget that we are naturally cyclical creatures. While there is a time for that, it is not ALWAYS time for that. As the year winds down, I encourage you to look around you at nature, the animals, the living things around you for clues on how we can live more in line with nature.
Fall is time to do final preparations for the long winter. To access the work we've done this year, and evaluate what harvest it has brought us. It's the perfect time to do some reflecting on things we are carrying that will not serve us in the cold, long winter months but will drag us down. Let those things go. Leave them in Fall.
Waking with the sun and winding down with sunset is another wonderful way to ensure we are winding down into the Winter that is fast approaching.
