Nearly 90,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease each year, representing a 50% increase from previous estimates. This graphic shows a few fitness tips from the Parkinson's Foundation that can help you or your loved one manage symptoms. At the Center for Exercise, we offer a chair-based class designed to help people with neurological conditions. It focuses on mind to body coordination, balance, and gait using strategies that can help remap brain patterns in relation to functional movement.

Please welcome one of our new interns, Jaelyn Karow. Jaelyn is from Fayetteville, Arkansas and will graduate from the University of Arkansas this spring where she is majoring in Exercise Science. She plans to take a gap year before pursuing her master's degree in athletic training. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends, watching movies and reading. Welcome Jaelyn!

Please welcome one of our new interns, Britni Murphree. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas and is majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Human Development and Family Science. Today is ! Exercise can distract you and keep you busy until the craving for ni****ne passes. There are other benefits of exercise such as:

* Short periods of physical activity, especially aerobic exercises, reduce the urge to smoke. Aerobic exercise is physical activity that makes you sweat, causes you to breath harder, and gets your heart beating faster. It strengthens your heart and lungs. Walking, swimming, running, dancing, cycling, and boxing are a few types of aerobic exercise.

* Withdrawal symptoms and cravings for ci******es decrease during exercise and up to 50 minutes after exercising.

Remember to set your clocks forward for the time change, especially if you don't want to miss your morning workout!
