Today we recognize World Pilots Day and take a moment to thank the LifeLink AIR pilots who serve our regions and communities every day.

Our pilots are more than just operators of an aircraft. They are critical members of the team who make safe, timely patient care possible across North and South Carolina. From early morning launches to late night calls, they consistently bring a high level of skill, focus, and professionalism to every mission.

They navigate challenging weather decisions, tight landing zones, and time sensitive situations while working seamlessly alongside our medical crews and partner agencies. Their decision making and commitment to safety are what allow our teams to reach patients when it matters most.

We appreciate everything our LifeLink AIR pilots do for our patients, our crews, and the communities we serve.

This week, two of our LifeLink leaders are representing Cape Fear Valley Mobile Integrated Healthcare at the AAMS Medical Transport Leadership Institute-MTLI in West Virginia.

Program Director Cody Chavis and Base Lead Brian McCoy are spending the week alongside leaders from across the country, investing in advanced leadership development, operational strategy, and the future of air and ground medical transport. This week also marks the completion of Year 1 of the MTLI program for both leaders.

We are especially proud to recognize Brian McCoy as a recipient of the North Carolina Association of Air Medical Services Scholarship for MTLI, an honor that reflects his lifelong dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

We’d also like to recognize Flight Paramedic Mark Potts, who attended MTLI this week as well. His initiative and personal investment in continued growth and leadership development speak volumes about his commitment to the profession and the patients we serve.

Opportunities like MTLI are critical in building strong, forward-thinking leadership that directly impacts patient care, safety, and the sustainability of our services across North and South Carolina.

We’re proud to have Cody, Brian, and Mark representing LifeLink and bringing that knowledge back to strengthen our teams and the communities we serve.

As we continue recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, our LifeLink Air teams had the opportunity to take that appreciation on the road.

This week, our crews rounded with our partner telecommunications centers across Dillon, Chesterfield, Marlboro, Hoke, Cumberland, Lee, Robeson, Harnett, and Scotland counties, delivering gift baskets as a small token of our gratitude.

These visits are more than a gesture, they represent the relationships that make our system work.

Every mission we fly, every patient we transport, and every critical decision we make is supported by the professionals behind the headset. These teams are the foundation of seamless care across our region.

Spanning both North Carolina and South Carolina, this collaboration highlights what it truly means to be One Great Team. No matter the county, agency, or state line, we are all connected by a shared purpose: delivering timely, safe, and high-quality care to the patients who depend on us.

To our telecommunications partners, thank you for your partnership, your professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. We are proud to stand alongside you.

This week, we proudly recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time dedicated to honoring the voices behind the headset who serve as the first link in every emergency response.

At Cape Fear Valley Mobile Integrated Healthcare, we are incredibly fortunate to work alongside some of the very best, our flight followers, dispatchers, and transfer center professionals, who ensure that every mission starts with clarity, coordination, and purpose.

Before the aircraft lifts, before the ambulance rolls, and before we ever reach the patient, they are already there.

They are the calm voice in chaos.

They are the unseen professionals managing multiple priorities in real time.

They are the critical connection between our crews, our hospital, and the communities we serve.

This week, we also extend our appreciation to our partner county agencies and regional communications centers across North Carolina and South Carolina. Your teamwork, professionalism, and dedication are what make seamless patient care and safe operations possible across our system.

Every day, 24/7/365, public safety telecommunicators answer the call, coordinating care, supporting responders, and saving lives from behind the scenes.

To all of you, thank you for being the steady voice, the critical link, and the backbone of emergency response.

We’re proud to partner with Verathon and the GlideScope team in bringing advanced airway technology to the patients we serve across southeastern North Carolina and South Carolina.

For our crews, airway management is one of the most critical procedures we perform in the field. Having equipment that is reliable, portable, and designed for the prehospital environment helps ensure our teams can deliver the highest level of care when seconds matter.

Since 2017, our flight and critical care transport teams have relied on GlideScope Go to support advanced airway management across our ground and air operations. The continued evolution of this technology helps our providers care for some of the sickest patients in our region whether on the roadside, in a referring hospital, or during transport to definitive care.

Thank you to the Verathon and GlideScope team for highlighting our partnership and the work of our crews.

On International Women’s Day, we recognize something special on A-Shift at Cumberland County EMS. For the first time in our service’s history, all four Quick Response Vehicles are staffed by women.

These leaders set the pace for the shift, responding to critical calls, supporting crews in the field, and helping keep the system moving when it matters most.

Today those roles are filled by Supervisor Sarah Bomberry and Lead Paramedics Megan Frankowski, Brianna Averette, and Megan Gillach.

It’s a milestone worth recognizing, but more importantly it’s a reminder of the skill, leadership, and grit women bring to EMS every day, not just today.

We also want to recognize and thank the many women serving across Cape Fear Valley Mobile Integrated Healthcare, including our EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses who care for patients across our communities every single day.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women of EMS who show up, lead from the front, and get the job done.

Today is a proud day for our system and our community.

Please join Cape Fear Valley Mobile Integrated Healthcare in congratulating LifeLink Director Cody Chavis and Cumberland County EMS Director Pete Allen on graduating from the Master of Science in Nursing program at Herzing University in Orlando, Florida.

Balancing the demands of leading high-performing EMS and air medical programs while completing a graduate nursing degree is no small task. This achievement reflects a deep commitment to clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and advancing the standard of care for the patients and communities we serve.

Their leadership continues to strengthen the bridge between prehospital care, mobile integrated healthcare, and hospital-based systems. We are proud to serve alongside leaders who invest in their own growth so they can better serve others.

We will be sharing the commencement link shortly for anyone who would like to watch and celebrate this milestone.

Please join us in congratulating Cody and Pete on this incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations to today’s graduating Paramedic class from Fayetteville Technical Community College.

We’re proud to share that this group includes several new paramedics from across all three Mobile Integrated Healthcare services, including LifeLink, Cumberland County EMS, and Hoke County EMS. Each of them completed a demanding program while working in their respective departments and managing the day-to-day responsibilities of work and family.

Finishing this program takes focus, discipline, and a lot of long nights, and they earned every bit of this accomplishment.

Congratulations to the FTCC Paramedic Class of 2025.
