Today, we are honored to shine our Resident Spotlight on one of our amazing residents!

Mr. Roger Thompson has been with us for the past three months, and in that short time, he has already made a special impression on those around him. He was born in Robeson County on November 23, 1954, and grew up with a brother and a sister. He later went on to earn his GED, which is something he is proud of and encourages others to do as well.

Roger proudly served 10 years in the military as a Staff Sergeant in Airborne and was honorably discharged after completing two overseas tours. His dedication, strength, and service are truly something to be admired, and we are grateful for the sacrifices he made.

Many people may not know that he is also very musically talented. He plays the piano very well, plays guitar, grew up in the church, and also played in the marching band. Music has been a meaningful part of his life and is just one of the many things that makes him special.

Most days, you can find him sitting up front, waiting on a fresh cup of coffee and enjoying the company around him.

When asked what advice he would give to others, he said, “Get an education.” Simple, powerful, and full of wisdom.

We are so thankful to have him as part of our family and are proud to celebrate him today!
