I had such a great time sharing my knowledge of tarot last night! We covered a whole lot, but folks left with a foundation of knowledge and a cheat sheet of meanings and resources. Thanks to Gremlin Growlers for hosting this awesome series of community sharing! I’m always so happy to spend time doing what I love in a space I consider my second home. 🖤

We’re approaching another full moon, this one in the sign of Aries. I don’t normally do full moon spreads, but this one feels significant to me. Considering the state of the world at the moment, our relationships to ourselves and to others are at the forefront. This is a time of emotional discoveries, epiphanies revolving around our relationship dynamics, and how we can best support ourselves and others through world events. This particular spread can be applied to significant others, friendships, or even the community at large.

In addition, meeting our own needs is drastically important when it seems like there’s nothing but bad news day after day. Self care is vital in times of crisis, and it’s important to remember that our needs are as important as the needs of others. We cannot pour from an empty cup, and a burned out populace is easier to control.

Give this spread a try and tell me what you think! And if you’d like me to read the cards for you, just send me a message and I would be happy to schedule a reading for you.

Whenever someone asks which card of the Major Arcana represents me…this is the one I mention first. There are lots of cards I’m drawn to and connect with (that’s the point of tarot after all), but this is the one I strive to embody.

Whether it’s embracing my creativity in the kitchen or working to be a comforting presence to those in need, I strive to be the motherly and maternal individual that folks can trust with their concerns or personal matters.

The Empress is a card that embodies the archetypal mother figure. Nurturing and supportive, insightful and creative, she is the feminine stereotypes given form. She is a celebration of life and love and care and abundance. At least when she’s upright.

When she’s reversed, the Empress tends to embody more of the “evil stepmother” archetype. I always think of Mother Gothel from Tangled. Smothering, cloying, saccharine, self-serving: the reversed Empress is the loving mother turned on her head.

Whenever the Empress comes up in my readings, I tend to think of how I can nurture my own creativity or foster the abundance of myself or my community. And with my personal connection to the card (a version of this sat on my altar during my entire pregnancy), I tend to look deep into whether or not I’m channeling all that I want to be in my role as mother.

Curious about the Empress and whether or not she’ll pop up in your reading? Let’s schedule some time to do a reading and find out! Link in bio, as always.

Have a good week y’all!

When one goes to Salem, Massachusetts….one has to buy tarot decks. The plethora of witchy stores and oddity collections made a huge impression on me during my recent trip just outside of Boston. Besides food, most of my budget was spent on decks. Two of these decks (the first and last pictured) have been on my wishlist for quite some time. But I don’t usually purchase decks online unless they’re something I back on Kickstarter.

I am so pleased to have these in my possession, especially the Marigold Tarot in black and gold. I’ve been wanting this deck since its first release and they’re just as magnificent in person as I’d hoped. I can’t wait to read more with them.

The Insecta Obscura deck was an impulse purchase. And a good one. I am obsessed with the square shape of the cards, the imagery, and the different insects featured. Some of my favorite bugs are in here!

The Dreams of Gaia tarot caught my eye a while back and seeing it in person solidified my need to get a set. The art is positively stunning and I love the redesigns of the major arcana.

After a brief introductory period, these will be available for readings both locally and virtually. If you’re interested in having one of them used for reading, send me a message or go to the link in my bio to get something on the books.

Now, time to shuffle up some magick!
