Primitive reflexes are a normal part of early development. They help infants survive, move, and begin building the nervous system.

But when those reflexes remain active longer than they should, they become retained reflexes.
Retained reflexes can affect much more than movement. They may influence posture, balance, coordination, focus, emotional regulation, muscle tension, and sensory processing.

Sometimes the issue isn’t just the muscles, sometimes the nervous system is still stuck in old protective patterns.
This is why we look deeper.

PCOS is often reduced to a label, or a list of symptoms to manage. But for most people, it’s far more complex than that. In fact, the condition is now being renamed 𝗣𝗠𝗢𝗦: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

It can look like irregular cycles, acne, shifting weight, or fatigue that doesn’t quite add up. It’s a multi-system pattern involving:
• hormones
• blood sugar
• inflammation
• the nervous system

This shift helps move the conversation from “just reproductive symptoms” to whole-body health.

If you’re always tired, mentally foggy, or running on empty no matter how much you rest… this isn’t something you just have to “push through.”

These symptoms are common, but that doesn’t mean they’re normal.
True, lasting energy comes from restoring balance and addressing what’s driving the dysfunction beneath the surface. 🌫️

The body is never just one part.

Here Dr. Quinn is assessing shoulder function in a gait position (one foot forward, one back) to reflect how we actually move.
Why? Because pain shows up in motion, not just at rest. Walking requires balance across muscles and sides of the body. When that balance is off, compensation happens, and it can show up as shoulder pain, neck tension, calf tightness, or low back pain.

Assess movement, find the source, restore balance.
