6 Reasons to Consider Telehealth Physical Therapy

Now offering Telehealth from SERC in Fayetteville! Have you ever wanted your physical therapist to teach you how to move better in your home? Do you have a difficult time getting to your appointments? Telehealth may be a solution.

We know that the need for physical and occupational therapy does not stop during times of global crisis, and we realize how important it is for you to continue your plan of care amidst all of the changes taking place around us.

There have been many recent local and state-wide mandates of “stay at home” with only “essential” businesses being permitted to remain open. We are pleased to share with you that The Department of Homeland Security has declared physical therapy and occupational therapy as “essential” healthcare services and as such, our clinics continue to be open during normal business hours to provide you the care you need to live a pain-free and fully-functioning life.

As always, we follow stringent, CDC-recommended procedures and utilize appropriate products for cleaning our surfaces, linens, and hands before and after each patient treatment. We have instituted detailed action plans should our clinics be affected by the COVID-19 virus.

We commit to providing the same level of quality care that you have come to expect from us. We are here for you. We are here for the community.

COVID-19 Update:
We are asking all patients who have come into contact with someone with a diagnosis of Coronavirus and/or have symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath to please avoid scheduling your initial or follow-up appointments until you are symptom-free for 14 days.

We are committed to your safety as our top priority. Let us know if you come in contact with someone with a diagnosis of coronavirus. It has always been and remains our standard practice to ensure that all surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant, linens cleaned, and all staff wash hands between patient contact.

Seth, Jake, and Cameron had the chance to help out at the Winter Swolestice hosted by CrossFit Commence a couple weeks ago!
Winter Swolestice is one of the top CrossFit competitions in NWA. We did screenings at 1Day Strength and Conditioning where they entered a three person team, and also have patients that competed for Crossfit Commence as well. The competition was based around three person teams, who competed on four different events. Seth and Jake were able to keep our athletes healthy and safe while also lending a helping hand to any other competitors in need during the competition.

Fitness Athlete Spotlight: Jack

I had been training for a race for a few months when I started getting a ton of knee pain, to the point I couldn't even get close to running as far as I needed to each day. I started therapy with Seth 3 weeks before the race, and I noticed I was getting stronger and more confident on my knee really quickly. Seth is very professional, fun to work with, and he is really good at his job. I was able to finish my first marathon with minimal pain! I never thought I'd be able to reach that point with my pain! SERC in Fayetteville is an awesome office - Angelina, the receptionist, is super kind and helpful and Seth is a stud of a physical therapist.

So proud of Kyler!

Throw back Thursday to this Monday when Kyler passed the CSCS exam and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist! Congrats Kyler!

Anterior knee pain? Here's the latest evidence from a clinical practice guideline (CPG) -

Key Findings from the CPG:
•Hip and knee exercises are the best thing for people with kneecap pain.
•Knee taping or inexpensive shoe inserts can be helpful, but should be combined with an exercise program.
•There are no quick fixes: Exercise is the best treatment option over other options.

Advice for Patients:
•Gradually increase the amount of activity you are doing.
•Do a variety of activities; adolescents who specialize in a single sport have greater risk of knee cap pain.
