NBE Scholarship Entry Form - The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, Inc.

The fall 2020 scholarship program is now open for entries!

The Conference is excited to partner with the Funeral Service Foundation, who has graciously extended The Conference's NBE Scholarship Program to an additional 30 first-time NBE candidates this year, bringing the total to 35 scholarships that will be awarded to future funeral service licensees this fall.

The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (The Conference) has announced a review of its Model Practice Act and invites you to provide comments. The Model Practice Act was developed as a guideline to the legislature, regulatory officials, and members of the profession seeking to adopt or amend laws and rules governing funeral service.

Item Writing Training & Workshop - The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, Inc.

In light of the current travel restrictions and safety concerns, The Conference will be hosting its annual Item Writing Training and Workshop virtually this year. This provides us with a unique opportunity to accommodate more participants. We welcome anyone who is licensed as a funeral director and embalmer, has passed the NBE, and is interested in volunteering their time for public protection to apply.

As mentioned in early April, Pearson VUE has designated The Conference’s testing program as an essential service in providing critical support in the COVID-19 pandemic. Conference exam candidates are able to schedule licensure exams through the usual process, though there is limited test center capacity for scheduling.

[04/07/20]   The Conference would like to thank our examinees for bearing with us during this unprecedented time with COVID-19. As we have reported over the last couple of weeks, The Conference has been working closely with Pearson VUE, our testing vendor, to determine the best path forward.

In response to government guidance, as well as the increasing health and safety concerns, Pearson VUE informed us on March 17 they were closing their U.S. testing centers for 30 days. We have now learned the closure has been extended through April 30 or whenever conditions are deemed safe to re-open.

The Conference is working to ensure candidates affected by this closure will have sufficient time to reschedule and take their exam when centers reopen and testing resumes. For the most recent Conference updates, please check here:
