Kevin Williams, Therapist

Kevin Williams, Therapist I am a multi-licensed therapist with two masters’ degrees in the psychotherapy field. I am a Licensed Professional Couselor, Marriage and Family Therapist

As a clinical therapist with more than 30 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, teens, and their families, I have seen first-hand how lives can become imbalanced, overwhelmed, and discouraged. I became a therapist to help people transform themselves and their families so they can live fuller, healthier and happier lives. I earned my first masters degree in Art Therapy from the University of New Mexico and became a board-certified art therapist and registered member of the American Art Therapy Association (ATR-BC). Art therapy has been shown to be healing for people who may have issues speaking about their pain, as well as for children who have difficulty verbalizing it. In my art therapy practice, I use art as a diagnostic tool as well as a therapeutic one. After nearly two decades as an art therapist, I went back to school and earned another masters’ degree in marriage and family therapy from John Brown University and became a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). In addition to being an Art Therapist and a Marriage and Family Therapist, I’m also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and am working on a degree in Play Therapy, which I will bring to the arsenal of therapeutic tools I use. Over the last 30 years, I have worked with all types of people from all walks of life – children, adolescents, couples, and families. I have helped hundreds of people transform themselves and their families toward healthier and happier lives.

It didn’t feel like abuse.
There were no slammed doors. No shouting.
Just the slow erosion of self —
until you couldn’t tell the difference
between being loved and being tolerated.
So you adjusted. Softened.
Became easy to be around.
Quiet when you were hurting.
Grateful for breadcrumbs.
And the lie worked best
because it came in your own voice.
Rehearsed in silence. Repeated until familiar.
“I’m just sensitive.”
“I expect too much.”
“I should be more grateful.”
But here’s the truth:
If it had really been love,
you wouldn’t have had to abandon yourself to keep it. ❤️‍🩹
