I’m so excited to be teaching a FREE Birth Preparation Class at AmeriHealth this Friday at 11am 🍼🤰🏽

If you’re pregnant (or supporting someone who is), this class is all about helping you feel more confident, informed, and ready for labor and birth 💪🏽💛 We’ll talk through what to expect, comfort options, and how to feel more in control of your experience.

🌿 Skin to skin right after birth is truly powerful 🤱🏽💛

Those first moments after baby arrives aren’t just sweet, they’re science-backed magic. Skin to skin helps regulate baby’s breathing and temperature, stabilizes their heart rate, supports bonding, and even encourages early feeding cues. It also helps the birthing person release oxytocin, which supports healing and reduces stress in those early hours.

But here’s something just as important…
✨ Partners benefit too! ✨

If the birthing person isn’t able to hold baby immediately (or even if you just want to share the moment) partners can absolutely offer skin to skin. Babies still experience all those beautiful benefits: calmness, warmth, bonding, and feeling secure. And partners often feel more connected, confident, and grounded when they get that special time too!!!

Skin to skin isn’t just a “nice” moment, it’s a super powerful yet gentle way to start life earthside for baby and a meaningful bonding opportunity for the whole family. 💕

Ahhh, the glamorous doula life ✨… where the 5-star accommodations look a little more like this 👀🛋️➡️🛏️. It’s no hotel stay, but it’ll do!

Truth is, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Supporting families through labor is one of the most important and meaningful things I get to do. Whether it’s a doula, partner, friend, or family member — having support during birth makes a huge difference 💜.

So here I am, rocking my couch-bed life with zero regrets and a heart full of gratitude for this work.

🚨 Stages of Labor – Let’s Talk About It! 🚨

We’ve all seen labor in the movies: one big contraction, a dramatic yell, and boom — baby’s here. 🎬👶
But in real life? Labor happens in stages, and each one has its own rhythm, signs, and purpose.

💪 Early Labor – things are starting! You might be excited… and maybe snack-hunting. 🥨
🔥 Active Labor – contractions are stronger, closer, and you’re really in the zone.
💥 Transition – the most intense stage before pushing… and the shortest!
💖 Pushing & Birth – the big moment!
🌸 Placenta Delivery – yes, there’s one more step!

Knowing what to expect can make labor feel less overwhelming and a lot more empowering. That’s why we go deep into these stages (and what actually helps during each one) in my Childbirth Education Classes. 🎓✨

You THINK you’re in charge of your body…
Then one day, your favorite food is disgusting, your least favorite food is your new obsession, and you cry because someone ate the last pickle. (Which you didn’t even want… until they ate it.)
