Imagine this scenario: an average person would like to run a marathon (26.1 miles). But they train by running only 1 mile per week. On the day of the marathon, they're able to run about 10 miles but get injured and are forced to stop. Why'd that happen? In the simplest idea, the level of physical stress endured during the marathon was too much for the body to handle given how it's been prepared.
This concept is easily understandable with a scenario like this, but most people forget that this can happen with ANY person and ANY form of stress!
Now imagine this one: A mother/father have brought into the world a new child. They're sleep-deprived, constantly providing for each other and their little one, forced to adapt to a new lifestyle that incorporates a growing family. One day, mother/father goes to do a "normal" task, one they've done a hundred times, and suddenly they're in pain. That idea is applied again- that simple task was now too much on the body due to the level of overall stress they're under. This type of example is just one of many that we see in everyday individuals in our community, and we strive to offer an honest place for support. At GWC, we focus on the ability for people to thrive in their daily environments through nervous system-based chiropractic care.
