Everyone begins somewhere, Yoga will meet you where you are.π€
Regardless of our current spiritual, physical, or mental state: You don't have to change anything, do anything, or be anything other than yourself. Your breath will come and your body will relax. Just breathe. You will do what you can, and because of your gentle nature, your body will gently respond in time.
Step 1. Just Breathe, Tune in
Step 2. Progression over Perfection
Step 3. Come as you are
Yoga is a breathing practice first. We just need to breathe. The Asanas (poses) will come next. If you're only able to sit or lay & breathe for an hour. That is enough.
Choosing the right yoga style is a great way to explore your options. So, ask questions, watch videos/ read books, and message teachers! Gain access to an understanding that there isn't any expectation of you to be perfect, know breathwork, names of poses, or even know your right from left π
There is a teacher, style, and props that can support you in your practice so it's accessible to you & wherever you are in life. No matter your circumstances (injury, disability, mental illness, limited mobility, time constraints, etc), there's a yoga class tailored to your specific needs, designed to support you right where you are.
Honor your body & mind. Offer yourself grace. Be true to yourself. Use discernment to move slowly and intentionally into your practice breath by breath. β¨π«Άπ½
I know that starting something new can seem overwhelming, but I promise you are not alone.
Usually, just showing up is the hardest part. I'm rooting for you π€
