Therapods - Inception
Therapods all started surfing the web late one night. I saw a picture of a girl in a floatation pod. She looked so peaceful and relaxed. It struck me as everything I like about a hot tub without the things I don’t. I started reading about what it was. Good for chronic pain…check. Good for TBI (brain injury)…check. Good for stress reduction…Yes! Stress aggravates the first two of those things I suffered from. Wow!! Where can I do this and how much does it cost? My heart broke to learn the closest float center was over a 4hr drive from Fayetteville. So it went on my bucket list. Weeks later, I got a $500 out of pocket bill from my specialist. I talked with Habib and we decided we could have a spa weekend to try floating for less than my copay, and those treatments would actually feel good. Off we went. We each had 2 floats scheduled, one at night and one the following morning. After the first one, we both felt amazing! We went back to the hotel and slept like we were on a cloud. We even woke up ready for the day feeling rested! Once I got in the tank, for my second float it was obvious to me how much my pain level had decreased compared to getting in the night before. I immediately slipped into deep relaxation. When the light came on, I didn’t want to get out, but I did. As soon as I saw Habib, I explained how we had to open a place for people to float in Fayetteville, that I wasn’t the only one that needed this closer to home. He had this beaming post-float smile. I knew he was all in.
