Essential oils have amazing properties that can heal and relieve pain from our bodies, calm and focus our minds, and soothe and comfort our spirits. At the apothecary, we’ve curated a collection of topical botanical blends that can address what you need right now, starting at the root of the cause to very last domino that has fallen. Various essential oils trigger different emotional and psychological effects, not necessarily linked to a person's individual emotional memories. For instance, most people find Lavender calming whereas Vetiver is grounding. The energy of each individual oil can trigger various states of consciousness, proclaiming to the unconscious mind a willingness to deal with an issue and resolve it. Essential oils also have curative healing properties that can heal burns, diminish the appearance of scars, help you feel more centered and relieve anxiety. Owner Amye Clark is a certified Reflexologist and has always incorporated essential oils into her sessions to give her clients an extra boost on their path to healing. While she stimulated the reflexes through the feet, she chose specific essential oils tp target what each client was going through that day. Pursing it further in 2013, Amye took her love of oils to an academic level and became a certified Clinical Master Aromatherapist, C.C.M.A. She also has certifications in Herbalism and Crystal Healing. Amye’s daughter Chelsea joined the family business in September 2013 first as a Reflexologist and then added oils to her practice as well. When clients began to ask for the blends just as much as reflexology sessions, Amye and Chelsea knew that opening a shop, where clients could come in and customize their oils or choose from the original blends Chelsea and Amye developed, was the next step. Anam Cara Apothecary has created the Archetype Collection in perfumery.
Each perfume represents an Archetype and the entire collection will be released over time.
What is an Archetype? Generally, archetypes influence our behaviour, trigger our emotions, and provide us with meaning.
Behavior of an Archetype is like different aspects of our personality. We don’t control it, it is almost an instinctive part of our soul.
Our emotions can have an archetype response, that of a warrior, a mother or a lover.
The Archetypes help us make sense of our inner world and emotional life. Through archetypes, we are able to understand more about who we are and what drives us.

We see ourselves reflected in the images—known as archetypal images—of the archetypes that surround us, both in the world and in our unconscious. Radically, every word or image represents an archetype. They’re every where!
Archetypes represent universal patterns and images that are part of the collective unconscious, the part of the unconscious mind that is derived from ancestral memory.
