Every second matters during cardiac arrest, which is when the heart suddenly stops beating.

Hands-Only CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival. Hands-Only CPR should be done at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute, or to the beat of "Stayin Alive" by the Bee Gees.

Hands-Only CPR steps:
🤳🏽Call 911
🫀 Push hard & fast in the center of the chest
🚑 Continue CPR until professional help arrives

Folic acid, or folate, is a B vitamin that helps our bodies make new cells and can help prevent serious birth defects.

The CDC recommends women get 400 micrograms of folic acid every day by eating foods with folate or by taking a vitamin that contains folic acid.

In honor of , we celebrate the life and contributions of Dr. Helen Octavia Dickens and many other Black physicians who paved the way in modern medicine.

Dr. Dickens became the first African American woman to receive board certification in obstetrics and gynecology in 1945 and was later admitted to the American College of Surgeons.
