A dog's uterus is split into two horns. Each pup has their own placenta (except in the rare case of identical twins!) The pups way at the end have a good bit of distance to travel before making their grand entrance in the world. This is why labor can take many hours.

Sorry it's been a long time since updating everyone. Over the last 2 weeks, we've lost 2 major keys to our kennel family. While both losses are very hard to understand & accept, please do not ask any questions. Both babies were VERY WELL loved & everything possible was done to save them.
