DID Awareness Day
Today we recognize Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) Awareness Day—a time to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and honor the resilience of people living with dissociative systems.
DID is a trauma-based condition that develops as a powerful survival response to overwhelming experiences, most often in early life. For many individuals, dissociation allowed them to endure what once felt impossible. Healing is not about “eliminating parts,” but about building safety, cooperation, and compassionate connection within the system.
At Healing Selves Therapeutics, PLLC, we believe:
🟦 Dissociation is a protective adaptation
🟦 All parts deserve respect and understanding
🟦 Healing happens through safety, collaboration, and empowerment
Through trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR, parts-informed therapy, and stabilization resourcing, we support individuals and systems on their path toward integration, cooperation, and wholeness.
On this DID Awareness Day, we stand with dissociative systems everywhere. Your experiences are real. Your resilience is extraordinary. And healing is possible.
