Good news! After recorded overdose deaths peaked at 107,941 in 2022, they decreased slightly to 105,007 deaths recorded in 2023. In 2024, that number dropped to 79,384—a decrease of 26.2 percent, bringing the mortality rate from 31.3 deaths per 100,000 people down to 23.1. We are finally- finally!- making a significant reduction in the number of people dying from opioid overdose!

PENNSYLVANIA CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR OPIOID USE DISORDER
Accommodating Healthcare Solutions PC is proud to highlight that it was awarded the designation as a Center of Excellence for Opioid Use Disorder (COE) by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2024. We have just been made aware of this achievement, December 18th, 2025. Under the leadership of Dr. Larrieu and Kevin Moore, PsyD, the team and I, Gary Gathright have worked very hard to achieve this recognition. We believe this endorsement will create a more seamless engagement for those that may need our services. At the very least, we will do our best to make this a common goal of the practice. For those of you that are and have been our patients, we thank you for choosing us and hope we were successful or continue to be successful at providing the care that was/is necessary.

Stimulants are on the rise and deadly. Of all overdose deaths last year, 3/4 were opioid involved and 2/4 were stimulant involved. In other words, 1/4 of overdose deaths were due to stimulants alone and 1/4 were due to stimulants and opioids. While opioids remain most deadly, stimulant use creates the second highest amount of mortality and morbidity.
