Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (a quick download from Dr. Thomas)

Cough
- If the cough is worse when laying down and first getting up, it is most likely an upper respiratory infection.
- If the cough is all day long no matter what you do, it could be lower in the respiratory tract.

A "good" cough is a wet cough. Often you may swallow lots of mucous and therefore are not hungry ("bo**er belly"). To settle the stomach you need to burn through the mucous:
- black tea (sips of black tea), ginger, grapefruit juice, and/or salt.

Treatment for cough:
- Humidification and/or v***r rubs, steam shower
- Hydration with electrolytes
- Take a mucolytic: (N-acetyl-cysteine)

Treatment Options:
- Vitamin C
- Garlic/mullein drops
- Echinacea
- Probiotic
- Omega 3-fatty acids
