Another successful Orientation Day in the books!

Today we welcomed two amazing caregivers who are ready to make a real difference in the lives of our seniors. The energy, compassion, and enthusiasm in the room was truly inspiring. Welcome to the team!

Huge thanks to the South End Coalition crew for keeping these meetings equal parts productive and hilarious. If you work with seniors in South King County and haven’t been yet, you need this kind of fun (and community) in your life.

Apparently the rules say if you win your own basket, you have to put it back and draw again (cruel, but fair). So there I was, re-drawing like a game show contestant who just lost the showcase showdown.
Second draw? Somebody else’s basket.

Apparently I also forget to take pictures because I’m genuinely enjoying the moment, so I tried taking a picture of the basket before leaving my house!

I left the session sharper, clearer, more fired-up, and honestly just happier. Alex, you don’t just “host” these meetings; you create a space where everyone levels up together, myself included.

This past Saturday, we walked with love and purpose in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

With every step, we carried the stories, courage, and spirit of our incredible clients who face the challenges of Alzheimer’s with unyielding strength.

For Jackie, this walk was personal. As the owner of AffordCare, she poured her heart into representing our clients and their families, honoring their resilience while raising awareness for Alzheimer’s research and care. Each stride was a promise to keep fighting for a world where no one has to endure this heartbreaking disease.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of participating in the Longest Day, and the Caregiver Submit by the Alzheimer's Association to honor caregivers and raise awareness for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia.

As someone deeply committed to supporting families, this day was both insightful and incredibly rewarding.

Being surrounded by passionate individuals and organizations dedicated to this cause was truly inspiring. It was a humbling opportunity to connect with family caregivers and share the valuable resources available to them. I’m grateful to have represented AffordCarere Home Care, showcasing the services we provide when someone is living at home or at an Assited Living to ease the burden on caregivers, and to highlight Tonya Hilson, Senior Living Advisor, Marketer & Meditation Teacher, which offers vital support in finding the right living situation once home is no longer the safe option.

Events like these remind us of the strength in community and the importance of coming together to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who made this day so meaningful, and to all the caregivers out there—you are seen, valued, and supported. 💜
