From the quiet night shifts to the urgent calls, our staff bring hope where it's needed most. This Labor Day we are grateful for the nurses, nurses aides, social workers, and support staff who day in day out are providing the care kids need. Thank you!

Thanks so much to our friends at Bank of America; several South Puget Sound branches recently did a supply drive, bringing games, books, and household supplies to support the kids at Ashley House. Those games and books came in handy on the really hot days, and the bubble wands were a huge hit for warm summer evenings!

It's Thank You Thursday! Thanks so much to our friends at The Firs for inviting us to be part of their Annual Car Show and BBQ! We had a great time listening to the music (and can I just say, some of these seniors have DANCE MOVES!) The food was great, the company was great, and those cars . . . so very, very cool on a hot day!

It may be warm, but there are some COOL cars, COOL music and great food waiting for you at The Firs! Join us for the Annual Car Show with music from The Randy Band, and delicious BBQ Brisket (and fantastic sides!). There will be a raffle, and the proceeds this year will go to benefit the kids at Ashley House! We are here, and we hope you'll be too!

We'll be hanging out in Olympia this Friday at The Firs Independent Living for an afternoon of food, fun and CARS! It's the Annual Car Show at The Firs! And this year the staff and residents have chosen to donate a portion of the proceeds to Ashley House! Thank you so much. Stop by our table (though really, we hear the BBQ and music will be the big draw!)

Everyone loves a sunny day. But the children we care for--medically fragile children and youth--are very susceptible to heat and cold.

Today, as temperatures climb we are so grateful to our great maintenance staff which works hard to make sure that HVAC and air conditioning systems are good shape. We are also grateful to the donors who helped us make some major repairs to these systems over the past year. Your gift is helping the kids stay "cool" on these very hot days!

Thankfully, it is supposed to cool down later in the week. Need some tips to stay cool in the meantime? Check these out!

When the weather heats up, know how to keep cool. When outside temperatures are high, the danger for heat-related illness rises.

What a wonderful time we had Friday, sharing information about Ashley House at Haggen as part of Inspiring Change Together! Thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome, and to the customers who had some great questions!

This year, Inspiring Change Together is supporting eleven local organizations that do everything from fight cancer to support children with autism and providing summer camp for special needs children. We are proud to be one of these organizations making a difference!
