KAMP LENAPE CLOSES THE 2025 SEASON
It may have been a wet, dreary day outside, but Kamp Lenape campers and their families had a fun morning with celebration of the 2025 season and a lot of food. Thanks goes especially to the staff from area school districts who gave all of the campers the best summer experience possible during this year's season. Appreciation also goes to KSI staff volunteers and friends who gave their time to help out. Thanks also to the generous sponsors who helped make it happen. Food Lion in Harrington made one of the lunches at Kamp Lenape more wonderful for the children with a special sandwich day thanks to the store's deli team. Jennifer Harris (right) and Becky Jenkins from Food Lion made some campers really happy with the delivery.

MELISSA BRENNER with FIRST STATE IMPROV delighted KSI Kamp Lenape campers with a lot of fun interactive improvs, including some really adorable puppets. A Baltimore actor who moved to Delaware in 2000, Melissa works with area theater groups, schools and libraries using improv classes and games that help children and teens gain confidence, creativity and better life performance.

KAMP GOES TO THE DOGS--FOR A GOOD READING
Therapy dog reading mentors from LEAP (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) came to Kamp Lenape last Wednesday, to the joy of our campers. Based out of Lewes, Delaware, this volunteer group creates opportunities for children to hone their reading skills and grow enthusiasm for literacy by reading to some very friendly canines. The books for the occasion were part of a large donation from Lisa Libraries that both benefited Kamp Lenape and started a participant lending library of various books at the KSI Skill Development Center.

Due to some scheduling conflicts with the change in date, we have decided to cancel Kamp Clean-up Day this year. Thank you so much for your willingness to volunteer and help us out. We will certainly reach out to you next year for your participation.

Kamp starts on June 30th! We are looking forward to welcoming nearly 30 Campers for a fun and exciting summer.
