🏌️‍♂Common Golf Injuries – And How to Avoid Them! ⛳

Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned pro, golf can take a toll on your body if you're not careful. Common golf injuries include lower back pain, golfer’s elbow, shoulder strains, and wrist issues—often caused by poor swing mechanics, lack of flexibility, or overuse.

Stay on the green and out of the clinic! To avoid injury, be sure to warm up properly before teeing off, stretch regularly to improve mobility, and focus on proper form.

Don’t underestimate the power of strength training and core stability to support your swing.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t play through the pain—listen to your body!

🏥 If you're dealing with aches and pains, our team can help you recover and get back in the game.

A push-up is a great bodyweight exercise that engages multiple muscle groups, including the chest, shoulders, triceps, and core.

When performing a push-up, the chest muscles, or pectorals, are the primary muscle group being worked.

The shoulders, or deltoids, and the triceps muscles in the upper arms are also engaged. Additionally, the core muscles, including the abs and the muscles around the spine, are used to maintain a stable, straight body position during the exercise.

Overall, a push-up is a full-body exercise that engages multiple muscle groups.

Pre-surgical rehabilitation plays a crucial role in preparing patients for knee surgery and maximizing their post-surgical outcomes. Engaging in a comprehensive rehabilitation program prior to the surgery offers several benefits.

Firstly, it helps improve the strength and flexibility of the muscles surrounding the knee joint, which can enhance the surgical procedure's success and aid in a smoother recovery.

Secondly, pre-surgical rehabilitation educates patients about the upcoming procedure, helping them understand what to expect, manage their expectations, and alleviate anxiety.

Thirdly, it allows individuals to establish a baseline of physical fitness, enabling them to better cope with the demands of post-surgical rehabilitation.

Additionally, pre-surgical rehabilitation promotes better overall health and well-being, optimizing patients' overall condition before the surgery.

By actively participating in exercises, range-of-motion activities, and pain management strategies, individuals can potentially shorten their recovery time, regain functionality faster, and achieve improved long-term outcomes.

Ultimately, pre-surgical rehabilitation empowers patients to take an active role in their own recovery and sets the stage for a successful and smoother rehabilitation journey post-knee surgery.

A partial or complete rotator cuff tear makes it difficult to raise and move your arm. You may have shoulder pain and arm weakness. Rotator cuff injuries are common, especially as you get older.

There are two types of torn rotator cuffs which include:
đź’  Partial: With an incomplete or partial tear, the tendon still somewhat attaches to the arm bone.
💠 Complete: With a full-thickness or complete tear, the tendon separates completely from the bone. There’s a hole or rip in the tendon.

There are non-surgical and surgical treatment options for rotator cuff tears. If you are in pain or your range of movement is limited, make an appointment with Dr. Holdren. He can evaluate your ability and make recommendations on options that are best for your individual situation.

- "I am very please with the care", Iyad

We appreciate Iyad for leaving us a five star review on Google.

"I went to Dr. Holdren for shoulder pain and I am very please with the care I have been given. It's a long process for me given the years of abuse I've put on myself, but it's stronger and more pain free, thank you! I also referred my wife to him."

Iyad, we are thankful you chose Fenton Physical Therapy for your rehabilitation!

Dr. Alex Holdren is taking new patients and would love to help you along your recovery journey.
