Today we were proud to present the LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care with our Heart of Caring Award for the month. It was a delight to have President Diane Welker, executive director JoAnn Newberry, Stephanie Smith, and Chris Johnson with us for the award presentation. Sara Terryah shared the following about LaVigne Home's wonderful care for our community:

"I would like to nominate LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care, not just one caregiver but the home as a whole. The staff and volunteers have a true hospice heart, committing to compassion and dignity in the end of life care they provide. LaVigne is able to provide physical and emotional care to patients and their families. As a hospice nurse myself it is a pleasure to work hand in hand with LaVigne and know that patients and their families are always receiving exceptional care and support. Having a hospice home in the community is a great resource to have for those who cannot provide care at home during such an emotional journey."

As the winner for our Heart of Caring Award, the LaVigne Home received a Heart of Caring glass heart, their home inscribed on our Heart of Caring Award plaque, and a $100 American Express gift card. We are so grateful for the staff, volunteers, and board of the LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care for the exceptional care they provide for their patients and families.
