Last month, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other federal agencies announced that they would temporarily suspend the enforcement of the 2024 restrictions on the duration of Short-Term Medical (STM) plans. This change allows states to regulate the lengths of STM plans.

Florida is one of the states now permitting Short-Term Medical plans for a duration of up to 12 months, with the option to renew for a total of three (3) years.

If you need coverage while transitioning to a new job, retiring before the age of 65, or due to other life events, these plans may be suitable for you.
