It's a beautiful morning for a 2K ocean swim at Hammerhead Ocean Marathon!

Even though I relish my weekly ocean swims, I'm pushing my comfort zone a bit today by doing this race!

Since we are deep into summertime heat here in NE FL, my many various plumeria trees are poppin' off with glorious flowers! Lots of white, pink, purple and reds to see... Makes my morning meditations in the garden a fragrant and beautiful experience.

Forgive me my heavy heart today as I learned of the early morning passing of my father.

So today I honor the life of my father — a proud Vietnam veteran, Marine Corps fighter pilot, Wright Brothers Award recipient, and lifelong aviator and flight instructor. His courage, discipline, and deep love of flight shaped not only his life, but the lives of everyone who knew him. He lived with purpose, served with honor, and soared with grace. Blue skies and tailwinds, Dad. You are deeply missed and forever admired.
