Clay Shooters Shoot Divided

A lot of clay shooters think fear comes from the target.

But many times, fear starts before the bird even leaves the house.

It starts when part of you wants to trust…
while another part is gripping, doubting, and trying to control everything.

That internal split creates tension fast.

You want a smooth move…
but you keep steering the shot.

You want confidence…
but your mind keeps rehearsing the miss.

You tell yourself to stay calm…
while your body is already bracing for failure.

And that divided state is what makes shooters feel tight, rushed, and disconnected under pressure.

The best shooting happens when the mind and body stop fighting each other.

When trust becomes stronger than control.
When commitment becomes louder than fear.
When attention fully returns to the target instead of the story in your head.

Watch this video and notice how much pressure may actually be coming from inner conflict — not the target itself.

Stress does not always loosen because life changes.

Sometimes it softens because your attention changes.

A lot of people stay mentally locked onto pressure, problems, tension, and overstimulation all day long… without realizing how much their nervous system is absorbing.

That’s why simple exercises that redirect attention can feel surprisingly calming.

One color.
One breath.
One physical release.

And suddenly the body starts letting go.

The jaw softens.
The shoulders drop.
The nervous system slows down.

Because attention influences state more than most people realize.

Your mind is constantly taking cues from where you place your focus.

And sometimes peace begins with giving your attention something lighter, calmer, and safer to hold onto.

Watch this video and notice how quickly your body responds when your focus shifts intentionally.

If you want more tools to feel calmer, lighter, and more at peace in your daily life, I have an

Many people approach weight loss like a battle.

Fighting cravings.
Fighting habits.
Fighting their body.
Fighting themselves every step of the way.

But constant internal fighting creates stress—and stress often makes lasting change harder.

Sometimes the breakthrough doesn’t come from more force.

It comes from understanding yourself differently.

This Tuesday, we’re talking about why weight loss becomes more sustainable when you stop turning yourself into the enemy.

We’ll explore:

• Why self-criticism often backfires
• How stress affects eating patterns and consistency
• The difference between awareness and punishment
• How to create healthier change without constant internal struggle

Long-term wellness grows better from support than from self-attack.

05/18/2026

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about fear.

And honestly… I don’t think fear always comes only from what’s happening around us.

Sometimes fear grows because something inside of us is divided.

Part of us wants peace…
while another part keeps feeding worry.

Part of us wants freedom…
while another part still believes pressure and overthinking are what keep us safe.

Part of us wants change…
while another part is gripping tightly to what feels familiar.

And that inner conflict creates so much strain.

I think many people are more exhausted from mentally fighting themselves than they realize.

Trying to act calm while internally bracing.
Trying to act confident while mentally rehearsing doubt.
Trying to move forward while emotionally living in fear.

That is exhausting for the nervous system.

And after more than 30 years of working with athletes, executives, entrepreneurs, Olympians, and everyday people trying to feel better in their own minds… I can tell you this:

What’s happening internally matters.

A lot.

Because behavior alone doesn’t create peace.

You can force yourself to “act okay” for a while…
but if your mind is constantly rehearsing fear, pressure, worst-case scenarios, and resistance, eventually you feel the strain of that split.

So maybe the question this week is not only:

“What am I afraid of?”

Maybe it’s:

“Where am I internally divided?”

Where am I saying I want peace while continuing to feed fear?
Where am I saying I want change while mentally protecting the old version of myself?
Where am I trying to control everything because some part of me still believes control equals safety?

Awareness changes things.

Because once you notice the inner conflict…
you can begin loosening it.

And when inner conflict loosens…
fear often does too.

This is the deeper work.

Not forcing.
Not pretending.
Not “trying harder.”

But learning how to create alignment between your thoughts, nervous system, subconscious mind, and the life you actually want to experience.

That’s where peace begins. 🤍

If this speaks to you, my hypnosis audios and mental training resources are designed to help you create exactly this kind of shift.

I was standing outside the other day, looking at this beautiful green view… and I caught myself doing something I teach people to stop doing all the time. 😂

My body was outside.
But my mind?
Already ten conversations ahead.
Planning. Thinking. Solving. Replaying.

And the moment I noticed it… I shifted.

I slowed my breathing.
I became aware of what I could see.
Hear.
Feel.

And within seconds, my nervous system changed.

That’s the thing most people don’t realize about hypnosis and mental training…

It’s not weird.
It’s not losing control.
And it’s definitely not someone “doing something” to you.

It’s actually one of the most natural things your mind already does every single day.

Have you ever driven somewhere and realized you barely remember the drive?
Have you ever gotten completely absorbed in a movie?
Or replayed a stressful conversation over and over until your body physically felt tense?

That’s focused mental conditioning.

Hypnosis simply teaches you how to use that ability intentionally instead of accidentally.

To calm the mind.
Release stress.
Improve focus.
Feel safer in your own body.
Perform better under pressure.
Sleep deeper.
Think clearer.

I’ve seen it help PGA pros, Olympians, executives, parents, overwhelmed women, and everyday people who simply want peace in their own minds again.

Because your subconscious mind is already shaping your habits, emotions, reactions, confidence, and behaviors.

Mental training helps you work with your mind instead of fighting it all day long.

And honestly?
The more I practice what I teach… the more I realize peace is not something we wait for.

It’s something we train.

That’s the work. 🤍

If you’ve ever been curious about hypnosis or mental training, this is your reminder that it’s safe, practical, empowering, and life-changing when you understand how to use it well.

Okay but… this is SO Pupeye. 😂🖤

Tiny body. Giant personality.
Completely convinced he runs the world.

And honestly? He kind of does.

We stopped for a quick drink and there he was… perched up in the bag like the little king of the gas station, making eye contact with every single person who walked by. Completely unbothered. Completely present. Completely himself.

No insecurity.
No second guessing.
No worrying about who’s judging him.

Meanwhile, humans will overthink a text message for three hours. 😅

And that right there is the lesson.

So much of stress comes from leaving the present moment.
We replay conversations.
We anticipate problems.
We worry about outcomes that haven’t even happened.

But peace… peace exists in the now.

I’ve seen it with Olympians, PGA pros, world champions, executives, parents trying to hold it all together, and honestly… within myself too.

The people who perform their best are not the ones obsessing over everything.
They’re the ones who can return themselves to presence.

To this breath.
This moment.
This shot.
This conversation.
This little ordinary moment at a gas station with a dog in a bag making everyone smile. 🤍

Pupeye may have his little pretzel legs and his feisty protector energy… but one thing he does beautifully is fully live the moment he’s in.

No holding back.
No apologizing for existing.
No waiting to deserve joy.

There’s something powerful about that.

Maybe today we stop trying to control every outcome and simply allow ourselves to be here a little more fully.

That’s where clarity lives.
That’s where calm lives.
That’s where life actually happens.

And apparently… that’s also where Pupeye believes he should receive unlimited attention from strangers. 😂

If you want more support calming the mind and learning how to become more present, this is exactly the kind of work I teach in my hypnosis audios and trainings. Link in bio. 🤍

Some high achievers are not driven by peace, purpose, or clarity.

They are driven by fear that learned how to look productive.

Fear of slowing down.
Fear of falling behind.
Fear of not being enough without constant pressure, control, or achievement.

And because it often gets rewarded externally… the pattern can look successful for a long time.

So the overworking gets called ambition.
The tension gets called commitment.
The overcontrol gets called discipline.

But internally, the nervous system stays braced.

Always thinking.
Always pushing.
Always trying to stay ahead of something invisible.

That is why so many high achievers struggle to actually feel safe, settled, or free — even after accomplishing so much.

Because achievement can create results…
while fear still quietly runs the system underneath it.

Real peace usually begins when fear loosens its grip.

When you stop needing pressure to feel valuable.
When you stop treating rest like danger.
When you stop confusing tension with excellence.

Watch this video and notice how much of your “drive” may actually be fear trying to stay in control.

This photo makes me smile so much. 🤍

Joe and I were standing there taking in the beauty, laughing, breathing the fresh air, completely present in the moment… and I caught myself thinking about how different life feels when your mind finally learns how to slow down.

Not numb out.
Not avoid reality.
Not “woo woo” escape life.

Just… slow down enough to actually experience it.

And honestly? That’s a big part of what hypnosis and mental training really are.

People sometimes hear the word hypnosis and immediately picture stage shows or losing control.

But the truth is, hypnosis is one of the most natural states your mind enters every single day.

Ever driven somewhere and realized you barely remember part of the drive?
Ever gotten completely lost in a movie?
Ever replayed a worry in your head so many times your body physically felt stressed?

That’s focused mental conditioning.

Hypnosis simply helps you use that same powerful mental focus intentionally.

To relax.
To retrain patterns.
To release stress.
To stop looping fear, doubt, overthinking, regret, or pressure.

I’ve used these tools with Olympians, PGA pros, world champions, executives, and everyday people who simply want more peace in their lives.

And what I’ve learned after all these years is this:

Most people do not need “fixing.”
They need relief from the mental noise.

Because when the conscious mind calms down… the body performs better.
Relationships improve.
Confidence grows.
Sleep improves.
Focus sharpens.
Joy returns.

You become more present for your actual life.

That’s what mental training is really about.

Not becoming someone else.
Becoming more connected to who you already are underneath the stress.

And yes… it’s safe.
It’s practical.
And it’s one of the most empowering things you can learn to do for yourself.

This is the work I’ve devoted my life to because I’ve watched it change lives over and over again.

And I live it too. 🤍

If you’ve been curious about hypnosis or mental training, this is your reminder that it doesn’t have to feel intimidating. It can simply become part of taking care of your mind the same way you take care of your body.

A lot of what hurts people is fear beneath the surface.

Sometimes it looks like stress. Sometimes it looks like pressure, overthinking, control, perfectionism, bad habits, or emotional exhaustion. But underneath so much struggle, there is often fear quietly gripping the mind, the body, and the story.

In this message, I talk about why healing is not just fixing the visible thing. Real healing begins when fear starts to loosen. That can look like a little less gripping, a little less panic, a little less obeying fear, and a little more openness, truth, and peace.

If you have been feeling stuck in old patterns, this message may help you see what is really underneath them.

One bad golf shot should not have the power to steal the rest of your round.

But for a lot of golfers, it’s not the shot that creates the collapse…

It’s the fear that follows it.

Fear that the swing is gone.
Fear the round is slipping away.
Fear of losing control.

And once fear takes over, everything changes.

Tempo gets rushed.
The body tightens.
Trust disappears.
Now you’re no longer swinging freely… you’re trying to protect yourself from another mistake.

That’s where golfers start steering the ball instead of committing to the shot.

The best players are not perfect.
They just recover faster.

They let the bad shot stay in the past.
They reset quickly.
And they keep showing up to the next shot with trust instead of panic.

Watch this video and notice how often fear — not mechanics — is what actually starts unraveling your round.
