Give yourself a break! Things I don’t give a 🐀’s 🫏about in my yoga classes.

1. You choose Table over Downward Dog
2. You keep your Hands on Assist Card on “No”
3. You fall out of tree. Watch me … I probably will fall over
4. You skip a Chattarunga or stay in Childs pose.
5. You realize you were holding your breath .. I do it. That inhale cue was because I caught myself not breathing.
6. You quietly sneak in late to class. I’m glad you are there. Plus construction is a real thing on the island.
7. You fart. It’s a lower exhale. Your body let go.
8. You cry. I’m going to let you. It’s a release.

Know my class is ALWAYS safe place to grieve.

Be you. Feel deeply. Release Everything. Find Strength.

Remember if you are doing an online class. Zero ones of these apply with zero social pressure. You can fart, cry, stay in child’s pose, add a handstand, follow your heart. I’m there to guide not force or command. But do stay for savasana .. that’s the magic.

Forrest Yoga Gathering, 2026. There is something magical about being with your favorite people in community practicing together. Returning to being a student rather than either a teacher or trainee. Just sinking into a pose and holding only you … not a room.

When you transition from student to teacher, often you lose the ability to just be without the teachers brain. That was my goal this weekend. Not to perform. Not to teach. To listen to what I needed and serve that person.

Teachers. Your students need this.

I realized this morning walking Rose, I’m done searching for the magic solution to menopause. It’s not in some new supplement bottle.

I spent the last 48 hours going all out “Karen” on Yet ANOTHER wellness company that auto subscribed me.

I promise you. I will never do that to anyone. You want to cancel. You got it.

I also realized after my Gentle class this morning. There is zero substitute for a slow paced gentle Forrest Yoga class. Just enough effort in abs with long holds. Your neck released. Hips opened gently. Back released safely.

Purposeful movement. Walking at sunrise with the family. Followed by yoga.

Here is the thing. You get to do this on your schedule! Yoga at sunrise or sunset. Fitting it on at lunch or after the kids are down.

That’s the beauty of joining me online. You are the Captain of your practice. Choose the focus. Select the length. Opt for the style of class yin or gentle.

Mat Difference.. this is where the teaching starts

I get both new students and yogis that go to a “fitness yoga class” that grab the short mats on the wall.

Yesterday, it was a 6’3” man. He hadn’t been shown how to pick a mat out of the selection. I was covering this class.

My guess is the teacher doesn’t like what maybe thought of as confrontation. I know the student outside of class. With a quick chat, he had a replacement knee. Got him a long Pilates mat and let him borrow mat knee mat from Lifeforme to try.

Next student comes in grabs the same shorty mat. I’m like WTF!

Teachers - you are TEACHERS. That starts with education on what may to pick, props to select and getting set up for success. Finding out about your students on the mat.

Class plan got thrown out and we did a back to basics class.

You know that feeling.

You’re on your third flight this week.

Back-to-back Zooms until 7 pm.

Your neck is screaming, your hips are locked, and your body is begging for yoga…

…but the nearest studio is 45 minutes away, your flight leaves at 6 am, and you’re already running on fumes.

I get it.

Six years ago I was in the studio 5–6 times a week with an unlimited membership. When everything went online in 2020, I tried it once… and immediately quit. It felt awkward, impersonal, and nothing like the real thing. Even though I LOVED my teacher.

I stayed off the mat entirely for a almost a year.📆

Then I tried it again when searching for the right 300HR Yoga Teacher Training.

What I discovered shocked me: online yoga today is nothing like the clunky Zoom classes we all suffered through in 2020.

It’s now built for busy professionals and frequent travelers who refuse to let their practice die.

Since it is Sunday you will need to register on CLUB 14 FITNESS website for a day pass if you aren’t a member. One Day pass gives you access all the classes, gym, and sauna.

Do you want to walk your dog or walk with a walker at 82?

The choice is yours. Whether you are 40, 50, or 60+, you have control over your mobility in your elder years.

The first image is my mom at 82. We just left her checkup. She can’t walk far. It limits her life. It makes me sad, furious, and determined.

Why? Because the second image is of a student of mine which there are many North of 75 years old and moving with grace and ease.

Enjoying life. Walking her two dogs. Doing her own yard work. Happy. Healthy. Spirited.

What’s different? A consistent yoga practice.

If you are stiff at 40-60, it’s not getting better without you doing something. This is both your invitation and wake up call.

REPEAT AFTER ME- I don’t need to be flexible to do yoga. I need yoga to get more flexible.

And you need a teacher that designs classes FOR YOU. That isn’t a gymnast. That understands and cares about injuries and progress. That’s me.
