These were headstones that were totally buried under dirt and grass. Just added to Find-A-Grave.com

The memorial chapel near the front entrance to Woodlawn was rededicated to bear the name of Rosa Parks and is where her final resting place is. If you look at the picture here, this is where she was to be buried originally with her mother and husband. As you can see, her death date is not listed here. This plot is at the back left corner of the back of the cemetery.

There is a rich history here. Berry Gordy's family plot, Diana Ross family plot, Rosa Parks, The Dodge Bros, and many more artists, politicians, founders, business owners.

Woodlawn Cemetery has many people you are probably familiar with - business leaders, musicians and producers, civic leaders and much more - maybe even some of your own family. Currently there are almost 800 requests on FindAGrave.com of people asking for a photo of the headstone of a family member.
