Lisa recently celebrated her birthday! She kicked off the celebration by attending Special Olympics Bowling tournament and afterward enjoyed a birthday sundae with Kevin Applebee's Grill + Bar!

We are grateful to everyone, worldwide, who shares our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to enhance their quality of life.

An estimated 1.3 billion people live with a significant disability today.

No one understands the needs of persons with disabilities better than they do themselves. To achieve a more inclusive and accessible world, people with disabilities must have a seat at decision-making tables.

We hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Thanks to the generosity of our community, especially Ferndale Haggen, we were able to provide delicious Thanksgiving meals to our clients and the staff supporting them this holiday!

Our Admin team diligently divided turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, gravy and more into personalized meals for over 50 individuals.

We couldn't be more grateful for each and every person who donated to Cascade Connections this November. Because of your generosity, every person we support had a reason to give thanks.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re setting an ambitious goal: to add 45 new monthly donors to our community by the end of the year.

Why 45? Because it’s more than a number. It’s a reflection of our 45 years of service and our continued commitment to ensuring that people with developmental disabilities have access to essential services, regardless of the challenges we face. Your ongoing support can help us provide:

-Training programs that increase the skill set of a diverse and essential workforce: caregivers.
-Supported Living services that promote dignity and inclusion in the community.
-Home Care programs that help seniors and people with disabilities live independently and with dignity in their own homes.

It's the week of Thanksgiving and we’re feeling grateful to WECU for awarding Cascade Connections a Community Builder Grant! These funds will be directly allocated to ensuring our clients are able to attend essential medical appointments, complete personal errands, and participate in other community activities. With WECU’s support, we are strengthening community inclusion and increasing meaningful access for individuals with disabilities.

Cascade Connections deeply appreciates WECU's partnership - we know they play many roles, large and small, in the overall success of Whatcom County.

Giving Tuesday is less than two weeks away! This year, there are so many ways to support our work!

Lately, we have been filled with gratitude for the deep support we have from all of you. We’ve had families and guardians step in to ensure our clients and staff have enough food, we’ve had volunteers help us repair our buildings, and we’ve had local churches offer to support us with funding, volunteer projects and more.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and some folks have already put up their Christmas trees - but we've still got to share our photos from Halloween!

Around here, Halloween is one of the most anticipated times of year because our group home hosts one of the very best Halloween parties in Whatcom County. This year, they had bingo, a cookie walk, and a very festive trunk-or-treat! Plus a huge turn-out!

We also celebrated all week at both our Ferndale and Vocational offices, each day was a different theme. One day, for "Team Theme", our Training team dressed up as the different parts of a first aid kit and our Home Care team dressed as the characters in Strawberry Shortcake!!

We hope you also had a Halloween full of holiday fun and delicious treats!

The Days of Giving Donation Center is almost here — tomorrow we open our doors as your one-stop drop-off location to help families, individuals, and pets in need this season.

We’re partnering with incredible local nonprofits including Miracle Food Network, Cascade Connections, Whatcom Humane Society, Ferndale Community Services, and several food banks and community service organizations across Whatcom County to make sure your donations reach those who need them most.

• Household essentials & cleaning supplies

We would like thank to everyone for your incredible generosity! While the government shut down may be over, we will continue to accept donations of pantry staples, grocery gift cards, and Visa gift cards through the end of November. Next drop off dates: Wednesday (11/12) and Friday (11/14) from 9am-3pm.

We’d especially like to thank CTK Bellingham! They have guaranteed that our most financially vulnerable clients will be able to purchase groceries until their benefits have been completely restored.

Any additional fund received during this time will allow us to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for clients who don't have family to celebrate with this holiday season.
