This photo is also hanging in our Southgate office… an incredible shot and story.
On July 17, 1967, Florida lineman Randall Champion was hit with 4,000 volts of electricity after touching a high-voltage line. His heart stopped instantly. His coworker and friend J.D. Thompson rushed to help, climbing up and giving him mouth-to-mouth until paramedics arrived. Champion survived and even went back to work the next week.
By chance, Rocco Morabito, a photographer for the Jacksonville Journal, was below and captured the dramatic moment. His photo, later called "The Kiss of Life," became one of the most powerful images ever taken.
