🌎In a world that constantly pushes urgency, noise, and “right now” decisions, discernment invites us to pause… to feel… to listen deeply to our inner world.

✨Not everything that feels urgent is important.
✨Not everything that is loud is true.
✨And not everything that moves fast is meant for you.

Discernment helps us choose what feels steady, simple, and aligned — over what feels rushed, pressured, or chaotic.

✨ The right path often feels grounded, not frantic.
✨ The right decision usually brings clarity, not confusion.
✨ The right opportunities don’t demand you abandon yourself to keep up.

When you slow down enough to tune into your body, your breath, your inner knowing… you begin to recognize the difference.

🧠Urgency tightens.
💖Truth softens.

One of my favorite self inquiries to keep close to my heart and one that I often reference during class is, “Can you notice how yoga shows up for you off the mat?” Or “How do you practice yoga beyond the mat?”

The practice of yoga truly does extend far beyond the mat……..

✨ It lives in how we speak, how we show up, how we care for ourselves and others.

At the heart of this ancient practice are the Yamas & Niyamas—ethical guidelines that offer a pathway for living with intention, integrity, and awareness.

✨ The Yamas (how we relate to the world):
• Ahimsa (Non-harming): Choosing compassion over judgment—in our words, actions, and even our self-talk.
• Satya (Truthfulness): Living and speaking our truth with clarity and kindness.
• Asteya (Non-stealing): Honoring time, energy, and boundaries—our own and others’.
• Brahmacharya (Moderation): Finding balance instead of depletion; conserving our life force.
• Aparigraha (Non-attachment): Letting go of what no longer serves to create space for what aligns.

✨ The Niyamas (how we relate to ourselves):
• Saucha (Purity): Creating clarity in body, mind, and environment.
• Santosha (Contentment): Cultivating gratitude for what is, while still growing.
• Tapas (Discipline): Showing up for ourselves, even when it’s hard.
• Svadhyaya (Self-study): Deepening awareness through reflection and curiosity.

Your heart does more than beat… it communicates.

According to research from the HeartMath Institute, the heart generates a powerful electromagnetic field that not only affects your own body—but can influence those around you.

This is where heart coherence comes in.

Heart coherence is the state where your heart, brain, and nervous system are in harmony.
It’s often created through slow breathing, presence, gratitude, and emotional regulation.

And when you’re in this state… everything shifts.

Your nervous system softens.
Your mind becomes clearer.
Your body moves out of survival and into safety.

But here’s where it gets even more powerful…

Animals—especially horses—naturally live in a coherent state.

Horses have incredibly strong electromagnetic heart fields, even larger than humans. Because they are deeply attuned, herd-based beings, they constantly scan for safety and regulation. When we’re dysregulated, they feel it. When we soften… they meet us there.

This is why being around horses can feel so grounding, so healing, so real.

They don’t respond to our words.
They respond to our state.

At Rae of Light Yoga, Sound Therapy, & Wellness, this is the foundation of the work.

Through sound healing, restorative and yin yoga, and 1:1 energy clearing sessions, we gently guide the body back into coherence—back into safety, presence, and alignment.

Because healing isn’t about forcing change…
it’s about creating the internal environment where change naturally happens.

And sometimes, the most powerful medicine isn’t doing more…

It’s breathing slower.
Feeling deeper.

In a world that glorifies hustle, exhaustion has become a badge of honor.

But burnout is not success… it’s disconnection.

Somewhere along the way, we were taught that productivity equals worth. That rest is laziness. That slowing down means falling behind.

And yet—our bodies tell a different story.

Rest is not a reward.
Rest is a requirement.

It’s in rest that the nervous system recalibrates.
It’s in stillness that clarity returns.
It’s in pausing that we remember who we are beneath the pressure to perform.

What if true leadership wasn’t about how much we can push…
…but how deeply we can listen?

To ourselves.
To our limits.
To the wisdom of our bodies.

The most impactful leaders aren’t the ones running on empty—
they are the ones who model sustainability, presence, and self-trust.

They show us that rest is resilience.
That slowing down is strength.
That embodied leadership begins within.

Imagine the ripple effect if we collectively chose this:
Communities rooted in regulation, not reactivity.
Leaders guided by intuition, not urgency.
A world where well-being is valued as much as achievement.

Rest isn’t stopping.
It’s restoring.

And from that place… we lead differently.

✨A mantra is more than just a word or phrase — it’s a vibrational tool.✨

Used for thousands of years in meditation and spiritual practices, mantras help focus the mind, regulate the nervous system, and guide us back into alignment with ourselves. The repetition of sound — whether spoken, whispered, or internal — creates a rhythm that quiets mental noise and anchors us into the present moment.

One of the most simple and powerful mantras is:

So Hum

Translated as “I am that” — it’s a reminder that you are not separate from life, but deeply connected to it. Breath, body, nature, universe… all moving as one.

What makes So Hum so beautiful is that it naturally aligns with your breath:

✨ Inhale — So
✨ Exhale — Hum

As you breathe in, silently think So…
As you breathe out, silently think Hum…

No need to control the breath — just let it flow naturally, allowing the mantra to ride the rhythm that already exists within you.

This practice has been used for generations because it works on both the mind and body:

✨Mantra gently draws your awareness inward
✨Repeating Mantra’s helps shift you out of fight-or-flight and into a more regulated state
✨Mantra soothes the nervous system through steady, mindful breathing
✨Mantra creates a sense of inner connection and wholeness

We talk so much about perfecting things in life, things but what if we noticed…..

The real flex isn’t perfection… it’s your ability to pivot.

To pause, take a breath, and choose again.

🗣️ A conversation goes sideways? You don’t have to carry it all day.

✨Energy feels off? You can reset your nervous system in a moment.

😭Plans fall through? There’s always another path unfolding.

🙏🏽You fall out of alignment? Come back to yourself—again and again.

This is the practice. 🧘🏽‍♀️
Not avoiding hard moments… but not living in them either.

💪🏽 Your power lives in how quickly you can return to center.

🌸How gently you can meet yourself.

🐉How willingly you begin again.
