Sunny Rock Chiropractic

Sunny Rock Chiropractic Treating animals of All kinds with chiropractic care. Helping you and your pet reach for the sun. Sunny Rock is an all mobile practice, so I come to you!

My name is Dr. Leanne Parker, Board Certified Doctor of Chiropractic. I am a graduate of Logan University and I am the owner of Sunny Rock Chiropractic and Sunny Rock Animal Chiropractic. I am a native to the St. Louis area and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2009, about 45 minutes south of the St. Louis area. After high school, I continued my educational pursuits at Jefferson College where I received my Associate of Art Degree in 2012. Through my personal journey with chiropractic care and my passion for helping others, I was driven to begin my education at Logan University. There I received my Bachelors of Science in Human Biology followed by my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December 2016. Having grown up in the St. Louis area and having a love for all things St. Louis, I have decided to start and grow my practice in a place that has always been my home. My passion for helping others is matched by my love for animals. With a strong desire to encompass animals in my career, I completed a Certification Course on Animal Chiropractic Care while finishing my chiropractic degree. I graduated from Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic in February 2017, and currently hold an Animal Chiropractor Certificate endorsed by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. This certification allows me to give beloved pets and livestock equal attention and care, just as I have always dreamed of doing. I have had horses and dogs in my life for as long as I can remember, and I can’t imagine my life without either one of them. I have successfully shown Arabian horses and continue to have a passion for competing and riding them. If I am not caring for patients at their home or barn, I am probably outside with my four-legged children. I appreciate your support and I am excited to see how I can brighten your life with chiropractic care. The future is bright for us. Yours in health,

Dr. Leanne Parker, D.C.

I will be out of the office until after Thanksgiving. If you or your pet is in need to chiropractic services please let me know and I will try and point you in the direction of one of my trusted colleagues in the area.

We are out healing and recovering from tonsillectomy (not me I have already had mine out). Please give us this time to heal and recover as it’s harder on mom than probably.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving as there is much to be thankful even if things are a little tough.

🚨 EQUINE HEALTH ALERT: EHV-1 with Neurologic Cases Confirmed in Texas, Oklahoma & Louisiana 🚨

As of today, seven confirmed cases of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) with neurological symptoms have been traced back to barrel racing events.

The EHV-1 spreads quickly and warrants immediate caution.

Our clinic has not seen any cases at this time, but we want our community to stay informed and take precautions.

⚠️ BOOSTER VACCINATIONS ARE CRITICAL RIGHT NOW
If your horse has not been vaccinated for Rhino (EHV-1) within the last 3 months, or if you're planning to travel soon and are nearing the 3-month vaccination mark, get a booster ASAP.

Vaccines are among the most effective ways to reduce risk.

🧬 What Is Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1)?
EHV-1 can cause:
• Respiratory illness
• Abortions in pregnant mares
• Neurological disease (EHM)
🏡 If Your Horse May Have Been Exposed or Is Symptomatic:

STAY HOME: Horses that attended Waco or Guthrie events should not travel.

ISOLATE: Isolate exposed horses at least 30 feet away from others; more distance is better.

NO SHARING: Do not share any tack, grooming supplies, or water buckets with a horse that may have been exposed.

CHANGE CLOTHES: Change clothes after managing exposed or infected horses.

WASH HANDS: Sanitize hands before and after caring for infected or exposed horses.

DON'T TRAVEL: Do not move exposed horses off the property until your veterinarian or the state veterinarian has cleared your barn and lifted any state-imposed quarantine.

🧪 Symptoms to Watch For
Contact your veterinarian immediately if your horse shows:
• Fever
• Nasal discharge
• Hind-end weakness
• Incoordination
• Difficulty urinating
• Loss of tail tone

We will continue to monitor updates closely.

If you have travel plans, exposure concerns, or questions about boosters, reach out to us. Keeping our horse community safe starts with timely action and awareness.

🤓Did you know pets are generally safer in a kennel or other vehicle appropriate travel space or harness?

Here are tips and tricks to help make sure you’re ready for travel with your best furry-pal! 🐶🐱🐰🐻

Some crates undergo rigorous testing to be crash tested to keep out beloved pets safe. Always look for those on packaging and website when ordering. While they are often a little more expensive the cost of a life is worth it. When choosing a crate make sure that you pet can stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably. Always make sure your kennel is properly secured inside the vehicle.

Backseats are generally safer than front seats. This is for a couple reasons. If the airbags were to go off the back seat is better, just like our kids! Also, in the back seat they are less of a distraction for the driver.

Harnesses are also an option. Again, there are some that go through the process of being crash tested. Make sure you choose one that secure to a seatbelt or other safety device. Harnesses protect the dogs but preventing them becoming projectile in the event of an accident.

Outside of safety always make sure you have all necessary equipment. Plenty of food, water, leashes, bowls, p**p bags, any medication, identification tags or other tracking devices, veterinary records if necessary. While many dogs like to stick their heads out the window beaware that this can be dangerous. Things can fly off the road or other debris can hit them. Of course don’t leave your pets unattended in the vehicle and be prepared for weather changes. I like to keep ettowels and blankets
