The ALS Walk with our Fincastle team at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA is coming up on September 20th at 10:00 AM. Last year, the Brian Center of Fincastle participated in the Walk to End ALS with one of our ALS residents, Carmen, as a strong advocate!

“It was the best day of my life, and I was eternally grateful for getting to be a part of something so special," Carmen said about last year's walk.

We invite you to sign up for our Kissito HealthCARES team if you are able to go. If you are unable to go, please consider purchasing a t-shirt Carmen designed! The t-shirts are $20.00 and the FULL amount goes to the ALS Foundation.

Today, our Brian Center of Fincastle Chief Administrative Officer Chuck Flynn did a cooking demo for our residents. They really enjoyed his taco bake. He was the dancing chef today, but he was too quick to catch his great dance moves!

Thank you to this wonderful organization and a great group of kids for visiting our residents and team at the Brian Center of Fincastle!

A huge thank you to The Botetourt County Character Counts! Leadership Council Youth with Character Academy for visiting the Brian Center of Fincastle last week! The 6th grade students played bingo with our residents and then had a cooling and fun water gun fight.

The Botetourt County Character Counts! Leadership Council sponsors the “Youth with Character Academy” each summer for rising 6th graders. The academy focuses on providing opportunities for these youth to further develop good character traits which will help them be successful as they enter middle school. As part of the academy, the youth participated in a community service day where they were able to put the pillars of character into action.

We had a great week at the Brian Center of Fincastle celebrating our Certified Nursing Assistants for National CNA Week. We showed our appreciation with all kinds of great treats including donuts, omelets, pizza, a popcorn bar, margaritas (virgin of course), and a cookout also! Each CNA received a gift bag also.

Debs' Lemonade stopped by for residents and all employees to enjoy as well! Thank you to our CNAs for all that you do!
