My mom sent me this. She is a retired talented and gifted teacher. I'm a birth worker, reproductive and s*x ed advocate, and cuterus stuffy owner. I'm also the mom of anatomy-knowledgeable kids and involved in gifted programs.

I love how our worlds collide.

I think I may take up knitting as I approach my blue-haired era.

Birth work is political.

"This is my minister, Rev. Eric Severson of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland, speaking at yesterday’s rally in response to what’s happening in Minneapolis.

He had just returned from the front lines, answering a call for religious leaders to be present.

The story that has stayed with me most was about an organizer who arrived late because they were delayed from delivering breastmilk to a family with a newborn. The baby was hungry. The mother had been abducted by ICE.

I can’t stop thinking about that moment: a volunteer walking through the cold with a bottle of milk. A woman who expressed her own milk for a child that wasn’t hers. A family receiving it with gratitude. A baby finally fed.

And I can’t stop thinking about the baby’s mother, somewhere in a cell, miles and miles away, her body still painfully producing the food meant for her child that she was taken from.

We are told this is about the 'worst of the worst.' We are told that it is about public safety. And yet, there is a new mother who can’t hold and feed her baby. A baby who had to be fed by a stranger’s kindness.

I often have clients ask if I know of anyone who needs a gently used breast pump.
Happy to be the middle woman and get your pumps to Emily Arredondo IBCLC - Breastfeeding assistance for Tiffin/Carey area!

Hi friends,
I have a breast pump “loaner” program that allows me to loan out pumps (closed system) to clients who either cannot get an insurance pump or have an issue with their own pump.
Currently, I’m out of pumps!
ISO breast pumps that have been gently used- preferably Spectra or Zomee, would accept Motif Luna.
I’m not a fan of Medela pump in style, motif duo, Elvie stride, or lansinoh pumps, so I’d decline those!
Pass this along or keep your eyes open for anyone who is finished with their pumping journey. 💓

I have been in a totally crazy season of life for a stretch here with so many beautiful things, but I am off call for now and looking forward to personal life craziness slowing down for a little while too..

But looking to the future, I am really hoping to make an impact with my childbirth education. I firmly believe knowledge is power. And while what I've offered thus far is kind of a crash course because there's just SO MUCH to share, it is a solid foundation and puts power into your hands to build something great.
